The LAB Doctors of Physical Therapy
700 Wilshire Blvd #505, Los Angeles, CA 90017, United States
This is a super long overdue review that I shouldve done earlier since I have been recommending The Lab to all my coworkers (For those of you who work in the DTLA financial district, you MUST check them out)!! I have been going to The Lab since April 2018 after hurting my neck and shoulder from doing at-home workout video without any supervision. Back then I lived on the west side and commuting to DTLA, and I couldnt afford to take a few hours out of my long commute day to go to the UCLA one, which I have been do before. So I decided to start looking for other options in DTLA and luckily I found The Lab.After a few sessions, the neck and shoulder pain got better, but I wanted to keep going and get stronger to prevent any future injuries. While I jumped around in many different types of workouts (e.g. at-home training videos, gym setting, jogging, hot yoga, pilates, etc.), Dr. Mike answered not only my questions, but also went through certain exercises together even if its not part of the exercise routine that he made for me (and even including yoga poses!!).Even if I exercised to prevent any future injuries, I knew sitting down all day long and working 60-70+ hours a week would break my body down sooner or later. At The Lab, a session is structured as a combination of treatment and workout. There were many sessions where I could only get the treatment because either I worked past midnight the night before or I have to get back to work. Thanks to those treatment, I was able to survive through busy season at work!!I really wish Dr. Mike and Dr. John open up another office here in Minneapolis!! My experience with The Lab was awesome and not sure if I can be satisfied with anywhere else (fingers crossed).
Evolution Physical Therapy and Fitness - Brentwood
11600 Wilshire Blvd #199, Los Angeles, CA 90025, United States
I came to Evolution Physical Therapy after a car accident had injured my shoulder and made it difficult for me to lift weights without pain. But after working consistently with the trainers here (shoutout to Jadah and Wayne!), Ive made an incredible recovery and have gotten back to lifting the weight that I used to. I felt seen and supported throughout my entire recovery here, and I felt like my treatment plan was really individualized to my specific goals and needs. The trainers I worked with were extremely knowledgable and helpful in my rehabilitation, working with me to create a program that fit for my health plan, and allowed me to incrementally regain strength/stability in my shoulder. They were also very communicative and easily accessible if I had any questions throughout. I couldnt recommend Evolution PT Brentwood enough for anyone looking to rehabilitate and work through pain/difficulties with their body. Thank you for helping me get back up on the horse!
Fitness and Fuel LA

A little over a year ago, I discovered Whitney and Byron through Yelp. They offered me a free training session and I immediately clicked with them.It was one of the best decisions I ever made.Over two years ago, I gained a large amount of weight and could not lose it no matter how hard I tried. I felt terribly insecure and overwhelmed trying to navigate fitness alone. Working with Whitney changed everything and in a healthy fashion. I not only lost weight but built muscle. I got stronger and my endurance has become the best it has ever been. I used to struggle in high-cardio workout classes and now I do them without issue. I was the least athletic person in my family and after working with Whitney, I could out-ski them on our winter vacation.Physically - I have improved considerably. I dropped 40.1 lbs going from 182.4 to 142.3. I went from 36.10% body fat to a much healthier 23.60%. I lost considerable inches in every part of my body. I went from having to order the biggest size in a bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding to slipping into a size 6 nearly a year later. My heartburn has also disappeared. The mental relief has been another welcome side-effect of working with Whitney. I have my confidence back. I can fit into all the old clothing that I had given up on. I can push myself to go further and lift more. Its not just a physical weight loss, but a mental relief.Whitney had always been available for me if I have a question regarding nutrition when Im meal planning. She is filled with solid information regarding the right workout shoes, workout clothes, vitamins, protein powders, etc.I have developed good eating habits and a doable exercise regime. Whitney was adamant about not crash dieting and as a result, I feel like I wont just gain back the weight I lost. I never once felt hungry while listening to her tips. I have been able to enjoy a cheat meal on the weekends or on vacation without the fear that I will binge. The most important part about working with Fitness and Fuel is that Whitney and Byron are completely invested in your transformation. They want you to succeed and they want it to last. They have taught me a new way of living.

Assaf and Aman are the men! No, really I mean they are the MEN. Assaf has been the one working on me the most, but they have both been professional athletes, worked on professional athletes and both obtain their PhD's in PT from Temple University which really separates them from any other Physical Therapy joint. Actually, three factors them from anyplace else. 1. - its athletes working on injuries that they have suffered from. 2 - its the owners and staff that truly make it a special place. 3. - (and this is what got me in the door)... One of the owners is the actual physical therapist for the Los Angeles Clippers. That right there tells you that they are tapped into a whole other level of therapists and practitioners. Ill get into points 1. and 2. below. :-)Its one thing to know everything conceptually but its a whole other thing when youve been through a lot of these injuries yourself. Thats what I feel like separates these guys from the rest. That and the fact that you will never meet owners and staff that are out of this world nice and friendly and knowledgeable. They genuinely show up because they love what they do and get true satisfaction in helping people heal. I really appreciate everything Assaf, Aman and the rest of the team do for me. If you have an injury like I do you see them just as much as you see your family which means they become your family and thats exactly what they feel like, family. *shout out to Jordan, Denny and Trisha. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. #realtalk. You make a great, positive impact in this world, and you should be very proud of that. Of course I dont just simply mean in the way that your team are ninjas when it comes to PT (which is most definitely true!) but also in your teams intuitions and abilities to read and connect with people on a real, deep and meaningful level. Thats a rare quality. Thanks to Assaf and all of you at SRPT: Atwater Village from the bottom of my heart for setting my Wellness practice in an entirely new direction that is only leading to strength (of body, mind and spirit), joy and overall lifelong sustainability. Keep up the great work, and I'll see you guys tomorrow for another day of grinding.I highly recommend stay ready physical therapy - Atwater Village to anyone who wants to recover from an injury or just develop a disciplined program that is specifically designed for you and your goals. I give it 6 *****!!
PRO Physical Therapy
8471 Beverly Blvd #208, Los Angeles, CA 90048, United States
In my journey through physical rehabilitation, I have had the distinct pleasure of being under the expert care of Don Nelson, a physical therapist based in Los Angeles, on two separate occasions. First, in 2015, a severe low back injury left me struggling and debilitated for a grueling nine months. Despite seeking professional help, my condition only seemed to worsen – that is, until I met Don. Remarkably, I experienced a dramatic improvement in my quality of life after just one session with him, and a few sessions later, I was completely back to normal.Fast forward to 2023, and I found myself battling a shoulder impingement. Without a second thought, I turned to Don for his unparalleled expertise. True to form, his caring and detailed approach brought me back to a 100% recovery. Don's unique blend of kinesiology, massage, and physical therapy showcases the depth of his knowledge and the versatility of his healing techniques. He employs a range of modalities tailored to individual needs, ensuring optimal healing.Don Nelson stands out as the epitome of what a physical therapist should be. His commitment to his patients, coupled with his mastery in various therapeutic methods, makes him absolutely the best physical therapist in Los Angeles. Although there might be a wait to see him, every minute is undeniably worth it. Don's healing touch has been a beacon of light in my recovery journey, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of physical therapy.
Stay Ready Physical Therapy

Stay Ready is absolutely amazing! I had the pleasure of working with PTs there for two separate sports injuries (PCL sprain and Turf toe/detached MTP ligament) and always entered and left with a huge smile on my face. I have such gratitude for the staff Ive been able to work with who are diligent, strategic, efficient, passionate and personable. Sean is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and work with if you have the opportunity to. His positivity and passion came through every time I had a session. Aman absolutely loves and knows what he does and you can see it with whomever has the pleasure of working with him. Ashley and Nathalie also bring positivity and help make the experience of physical therapy all the more enjoyable when possible. I havent gotten to work with ever single PT of course, but what I can promise is, this staff at any of the three locations, know what they are doing. Best teams Ive ever worked with!

Dang Physical Therapy

*Disclosure: Detailed Review*In April 2023, I decided to register for the 2024 Los Angeles Marathon. My first Marathon ever.October 2023 came and my left knee started hurting so bad that I couldn't run more than 2 miles without pain. I had a detailed excel and graph plan ready for my journey, but my plan was now completely derailed. After MANY Google searches and MANY conversations with PT's around the LA area I landed on Dang PT. Speaking with Tony, he pretty much told me that he didn't know what I could have and that it would have to be a team effort to figure this out and get back to running. Tony listened carefully without making assumptions which made the conversation feel comfortable as if we had been good friends for a while. Then he threw me a curveball. I would be meeting with the other PT on his team for my first visit since he was out of town. I thought ok cool, I'll see the other PT and then meet with Tony moving forward. In comes Denise. My first meeting with her she asked me a million questions, which I expected. We had a good back and forth about what my goal was (Marathon) and what I've been doing on my own and how she planned to supplement what I've been doing. We then got to work, she asked me to do some stretches and workouts that I immediately said “Oh I see the difference”. She took the time and explained to me what she saw and did not hesitate to show me how to begin to address it. We sat back down after and recapped our session and she gave me a quick run down of what she thought we should target (at this point it was evident what I needed to work on). She ended the first session by telling me “My goal is to first get you back to running, how many miles depends on your progress and pain level”.I ended up signing up and saw Denise the entire time, and each week I saw her for my PT session she was always on time, asked how I felt and had a plan on what to attack for that session (she was always prepared). Most importantly I was starting to be able to run more with less pain, but still had ways to go to in order to catch up to all the miles I was supposed to be running. It was a total collaborative effort. This review has been long, but hope it gives a small glimpse into the type of people Tony and Denise are because they deserve the recognition. Can't speak more highly of Denise and her commitment to my goal and willingness to collaborate with me to make sure I reach it. They say the marathon is actually the training journey to the big race, and that the big race is just a celebration run. With that being said, I couldn't have finished my first ever marathon if it wasn't for the help of Denise.Dang PT doesn't have a magic wand or a crystal ball, but if you're willing to put in work they will have your back and help you reach your goal.New Marathoner
