... .N. The hot water is only warm, in the showers. Its supposed to be hot.O. The water pressure of sinks is way too light, barely existent.P. The water pressure in showers is much too light.Q. The machines (cardio, weights, etc, etc, etc) are never cleaned and disinfected by staff/cleaning workers. Public health violation.R. You have to spend your valuable time calling around to diverse locations to see if they have the amenities and things you require; and they dont. Some have no dry sauna or have one only in the mens locker room. How retarded. Very dysfunctional too is that only one has massage beds, tall lockers, towel service, some dont have pool or jacuzzi or steam room or juice bar, or etc, etc, etc. Utterly ridiculous. Its bad enough Daniel is ripping me off by charging $60 without nationwide membership and without supplying all of the things listed on the left of the sales sheet under gold membership/$60. Him charging me $1 to join under what he claimed is a 12 Days Of Christmas promotion, and telling me hes auto-debiting my bank account via routing number come month 2 then an annual overpriced membership fee come February...... Not acceptable. I should be discounted and the annual fee waived. Period. And there should be no invasive auto-pay. So Im continuing to clear my account out to $2 available balance on that account at the top of each month as Ive been doing prior to this gym membership anyway.Protect your money, people. From companies and employees like those of Golds Gyms.###[ADDENDUM: We are re-posting this Review from 1/3/24 because their so-called Retention department had the audacity to PASTE their generic response here that pretends like they care and like theyre willing to do their job of compensation and resolve, instead of them replying to our 1/3/24-email they opened of this Review. It's crazy how the manager is in the comments gaslighting customers' experiences stating that they are “untrue” and “defamation”. Well, no girl, rarely anyone is going to take time out to write a false review for no reason. Additionally, it's just plain unprofessional. The first thing in customer service is to always be willing to work with and believe a customer. Find a solution instead of running to Yelp to delete reviews! All customers need is to feel like they're heard and understood and Jen is AWFUL at doing that as she accused me of lying before I can even meet her?! Hate to pull the race card, but is it because I am black? What's the deal with you? I just met you! I've seen the one dude in the afternoon working the front desk and he's probably the only good thing about this place. Overall, Jen, you're quite mean and I suggest you should look deep within yourself and ask why and then work on it because projecting that negative energy onto everybody else won't get you anywhere in life. Instead, you may actually genuinely put someone in harm. You never know what someone is going through, you should be a lot more understanding especially in your position and location.PS. I don't even write reviews but I had to for Jen. Whether you know it or not, you actually really hurt my feelings making me feel invalidated and untrustworthy. If you don't want me to use your complimentary benefits & rather have me get a membership so you can squeeze any coin you get, just say so! If you were upfront, I may have just done it but instead you decided to imply that I was lying. Weirdo energy ?

Hybrid Gym Los Angeles! All I have to say is ask for Alisha she not only transformed my life but implemented a change that will impact my lifestyle for years to come. She not only determined, but advocate for the body goals you want to obtain. I never met no trainer with diligence and tenacity like her. Her focus was about making sure she transformed my body into the lean mean machine I am today and she accomplished that. Thank you Alisha, if you choose her as your trainer I promise you’ll have no regrets! LETS GO HYBRID GYM!

I live in Washington and came to Los Angeles for work last year. I stopped in and worked out during their morning and evening classes. All the instructors were very welcoming and knowledgeable. My last visit to Los Angeles was just a couple weeks ago. I took my step son with me to a morning class. Justin helped run the class and held mitts for us. Great experience and a great guy. Justin and Jake even took time for a quick pic with us. I’ll be coming back to his gym every time I come to LA.

Barbell Brigade Gym
646 Gibbons St, Los Angeles, CA 90031, United States
UPDATE AT THE ENDA one of a kind gym serving Los Angeles proper. Expect to see equipment not available at your commercial gym. Examples include, but are DEFINITELY not limited to:Texas power barsOlympic platesBumper platesChains WITH collarsSafety Squat barsPlyo boxesPower sledAnd all the chalk your heart desiresThis is not a typical gym and is geared towards a powerlifting/Olympic lifting/Westside Barbell crowd. There are more power racks and deadlift platforms than there are machines. This gym wont be for everyone. But everyone is welcome and both staff and regulars show it. There is no judgement as long as you lift with safety and youre not a jerk to anyone else.Classes arent offered regularly, but Barbell Brigade attracts some of the biggest names in fitness, powerlifting, and coaching, so there are often competitions, classes, and seminars led by some of the best. And most of the staff members are happy to help if you have questions.UPDATE 2017: While I stand by the rest of my review, I knocked off 2 stars and went from 5 to 3 because they recently changed their hours. It does seem a bit harsh, but the fact that Barbell Brigade was open 24 hours was a HUGE reason why I decided to leave the commercial gym and workout there, as it is for many others who have odd schedules. Hopefully soon they bring back the 24 hours, or at least stay open a tiny bit later. I dont know. I am quite upset about it.

The Stronghold Climbing Gym
650 S Ave 21, Los Angeles, CA 90031, United States
This is the best climbing gym in the city of Los Angeles for those climbers who are looking to push their sport climbing to a new level. The walls are tall and the route setters are consistent with the grading, unlike many other gyms where there will be only one move at the listed the grade. The gym also offers something for the boulderes, although some would argue that bouldering is best done at LAB down the road. I have not found that to be the case as i mentioned before, the grades are consistent. The gym host the nest staff i have ever encountered at any gym. They are very friendly, helpful and most of all knowledgeable.

Worst gym I been to, I was considering in getting a membership there, I walked up to the front receptionist desk, ask if I can get a tour of the gym. The women told me I cant leave the front desk, but you can walk around yourself, with a dismissive and rude attitude. Lol.. Ok so I guest I have to sell a membership to myself huh. As I was walking around alone, the gym and equipment was old out of date and disgusting. And to top it off, the attitude from the staff to the customer. Apparently this gym seemed to be selective with who the want there, Im not sure if it was the color of my skin or whatever they thought my race was, I believe who ever is running this gym needs to redesign the gym and the staff because from what I analyzed. They were being racist, tours me in a quiet way, and the reason why Im saying this is because, I read people for a living and I make a lot of money doing. So who ever reads my review dont get a membership there its not worth it and its not good to support or encourage an atmosphere like that.BTW I ended up getting a membership with one of the bigger players in this field, same price better attitude, clean gym and more to offer for the same monthly price.

Hardcore Training Gym
855 W Manchester Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90044, United States
I'm not going to try to tank their ratings, but this worth sharing with other curious people. I'm an out of towner who wanted to purchase a daypass. The website is very basic with no details about daypasses, which are very normal for serious gyms. I called several times no answer. Took a ride down to the gym and you cannot open the door for security reasons it seems. The instructions outside to call are useless. Nobody picks up at the google voice number. I peeked in and saw a beautiful gym. It was clean, looked like there was an open wall or door for good ventilation. Not a lot of people inside. I'm heading to another bodybuilding gym on a different side of town unfortunately. After this experience it's very unlikely I'll use the venue on trips to LA. In most of my travels I visit bodybuilding gyms. I know they can be niche, lean organizations that aren't very staffed but this was weird. To anyone considering a visit from out of town don't go without confirmation AND don't let your ride pull off before you've gotten through the door.

Bishoys Gym
10522 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, United States
Its hard to say anything that hasnt already been said about Bishoys Gym... So Ill tell my story and why I joined:I view finding a gym the same way you would when youre trying to find a new barber or hairstylist... you know when you find a good one, youre going to stick with it and be with them for sometime so you better vet them well.Im a 42 year old dad, with a dad bod, of course like many men I worked out plenty in my teens and 20s, then life and poor workout habits and injuries and fatherhood got in the way. I took years off and am now ready to get back into some good lifting but with the wisdom of my years and not the reckless abandon of being young and thinking my body is invincible, LOL.I just moved to LA and was looking for a gym, of course checked out the standards like LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness and was disgusted by their sales tactics and generally un-knowledgable staff members. Yes, those places were closer to me and more convenient, but I just couldnt bring myself to make a long term commitment to them because of their business model. Was driving past Bishoys on Pico and thought, hmm, maybe that place has potentialI called and made an appt with Bishoy to check the place out and wow, what a treasure. Yes, its small, but if you want a good solid place to work out with CLEAN, and TOP OF THE LINE equipment... this is your place. Not only that, but to reiterate what others have said, Bishoy is a great guy who takes care of his members and takes pride in his gym.Im really, really happy that I found a great place to workout and at the same time I get to support a business who is really doing it right.Kudos to Bishoy and doing business right in this day and age!
