UFC GYM Costa Mesa
2860 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626, United States
I don't really do reviews however with what has happened recently it's only fair.Purchased a UFC gym membership and everything was fine, until I went to cancel. Nancy/John emailed over the cancellation form, I completed it, emailed it back over to John zabotta and John never forwarded over to Nancy. I realized my credit card was charged for over 6 months of use @ $59.Now here our other issues, I called multiple times telling them I cancelled and emailed over the cancellation form, they gaslight me saying, “they never got it”.Okay cool, I'll walk in and do it right? Walk over to John and he pulls up an email I sent him 6 months ago about cancelling and he never sent it over to Nancy - operations manager? Not sure if that's her title since she doesn't know much but she's nice so there's that. Just like everyone else is saying, they will actually take your money even when you cancel.I'm not surprised if a lawsuit comes, especially since they are doing this to a lot of people in a pandemic and it's the whole “you have to go through corporate” - corporate doesn't actually have anyone who answers the phone FYI.Edit- they ended up refunding me for the 6 months I was charged after I cancelled however it was a hassle and I was dedicated to get it back. Nothing against anyone at this gym, just very unprofessional.

Chalk Performance Training Gym
121 E 18th St, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, United States
It doesnt get much better than this. After years of working out on my own and thinking I knew everything there was, my fitness started to go downhill. I decided to give Crossfit a try and went to a different gym based solely on price. I hated it. The facility was terrible and so were the coaches. I never felt welcome and almost gave up on trying this Crossfit craze.I decided to give Chalk a try based off some recommendations from people I trust. Im so glad I did!Chalk is a KILLER Crossfit gym. It doesnt get much better than this. The coaching is great, the members are all supportive and nice, and the facilities are beautiful. If youve ever seen another Crossfit gym, youll be blown away. Heck, there is even a great locker room with showers that I dont feel like Im going to catch a disease. Theyre nicer than fancy country clubs Ive worked out at.I drive almost 20 miles round trip to go here and pass probably 10 different places. Thats how much I dig this place. Not to mention that with Ryans programming and his and Ashley, Jeff, and Joes coaching, Ive made some incredible progress in about 4 months. Ive added 100 pounds, to my deadlift, 90 pounds to my front squat, and 60 pounds to my back squat, not to mention Im finally learning how to properly clean, jerk, snatch, etc. Oh, and I was stuck at those numbers for YEARS. I managed to add all that strength in only 2-3 workouts a week for a few months.Check Chalk out. Youll be glad you did.

The 12 Costa Mesa
140 E 17th St, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, United States
I have been attending “The 12”for five years now the first 2 1/2 years were in Huntington Beach. Due to Covid, the Huntington Beach gym Unfortunately got closed. I was devastated so we’re so many others. I loved it so much that I decided to make the drive 30 min each way from home to Costa Mesa to follow Brooke Downs. Brooke Is truly a one-of-a-kind. She exudes so much vibrant, positive, energy! She is always making you laugh, motivating and encouraging you! She truly cares about every single person that walks into her class and makes you feel comfortable. She opens her heart and has the ability to connect with every single person giving them a safe haven to come to every day. No matter what you’re facing she will be there to help guide and lead you to a better you!!!! If you have not tried the 12 in Costa Mesa wait no longer, go check out Brooke’s class at 9am or all the other amazing instructors at another time that suits your schedule. You’ll be so glad you did!!!

Planet Fitness
2200 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, United States
Havent visited more than 1 planet fitness location, but the one in Costa Mesa, I think could be one of the worst.Starting with dirty changing rooms / restrooms, often missing soap or paper towels/ toilet paper.Staff not always polite and willing to help with gym concerns.

HOTWORX - Costa Mesa, CA (Costa Mesa Courtyards)
1835 Newport Blvd Suite D150, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, United States
I LOVE this place! As a daily user of the infrared saunas and frequent exerciser, this place combines the best of both worlds and it has become my new favorite gym/studio.Pros:+ 24/7 access! The workouts are streaming so you can go in at any time!+ clean+ exercises are varied, short (15 or 35 min) and absolutely effective with the heat (between 120-130F). I've taken Bands, Barre, Core, Glutes, Pilates, rowing and cycling and they are so, so sweaty and good+ weight section with TRX, kettlebells and a bench+ only 3 people per sauna workout so it's nice and smallCons:- some people go with their friends and chat loudly through the workout and you can hear them very clearly through the sauna walls so it's a bit distracting- some people take weights into the sauna (even though we're not supposed to) so I couldn't find the weights I wanted to use and wasn't able to switch off with them between sets- sauna is a bit tight for 3 people tbh. I try to only go when it's not busy so I don't have to share the space with someone else. It's perfect for 2 people but a little cramped with 3 people- the workouts don't have music so I just pop in one earbud so I can still hear the instruction- if you are new to exercise, not having a physical instructor to help your form can lead to injury so I don't know that I would recommend this for complete beginners to fitness- the app is super clunky and I wish it showed an easier way to see workout class times to book
