3rd Street Boxing Gym
2576 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
Definitely the place to go if you really want to box. This is a no nonsense boxing gym with professional trainers who welcome all levels. Not the sad boxing hype you will find at regular fitness gyms/studios. Youll get a great workout during classes while improving technique. Cardio equipement for warming up is available, there is a ring and good size punchbags. Very friendly staff. It will be my first stop again next time im visiting San Francisco.

2022 Update - P13 is back to in-person classes that are challenging, fun, and made up of a remarkably friendly community of regulars and new additions. The culture is one where everyone is pushing themselves to get better but your neighbor’s always there to lend a hand or cheer you on.The coaches are on top of watching out for proper form and happy to help with modifications as needed. You’ll leave feeling accomplished ((think sore but in a good way) but also ready and well equipped to come back the next day). Highly recommend both for the workout and the people - this gym is worth trekking for.Original Review:Let’s be honest, 2020 was a rough year for everyone. And yet to my surprise, I’m pleased to say that thanks to Michael, Thomas, Jared and the P13 team, I’ve been working out far more throughout the lockdown than in the “before times” and this has continued well into the re-opening of San Francisco. If you’re looking for a new gym where you will be welcomed warmly into a new community yet challenged to continue to improve- look no further. These folks genuinely care about their people, put their hearts directly into what they do each day and want to see every participant succeed. Been working out from home but not sure how to push in the gym? No problem! They’ve got you. Old injury? Here’s a modification and the mobility work to help target those issues! Prefer safely-distanced workouts? On it.Without these folks and their empathetic, challenging and caring approach to fitness, I know I would have struggled in quarantine (both mentally and physical health-wise). Instead, I’m now in the best physical shape I’ve been in for years and truly, it’s thanks to the thought, intention and energy this team puts into each of their sessions with their community. Michael, Thomas, Jared and P13 team- San Francisco is lucky to have you as part of the community.

I am visiting San Francisco and was looking for a gym that offers day passes. Thankfully, I found LiveFit Gym, which (I learned today!) is part of a chain of ma-and-pa fitness centers. The staff has been super-nice, especially Andrew, the manager. The venue has cozy and has a nice variety of cardio machines and various weights. They offer towel service, cold water, and green tea, and the restrooms were very pleasant and clean. I will definitely drop by on my next visit to the city!

I miss this place already. I just moved out of San Francisco, but this was my go to gym. The trainers are great (ask about Doug) if youre looking for that! I would run two miles up and down hill to come here, but, for the equipment and locale, it was always well worth it.If Im ever back in San Francisco, you know Im gonna take some time out of my trip to come back here. Check it out!

Where I go to burn off the calories from all those great meals. Sunset Gym has all the equipment you need for a complete workout and the service is excellent too.

War Memorial Gym
2335 Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
The War Memorial Gym is home of the University of San Francisco Dons. This facility has a great basketball legacy. The Dons have won three national titles. The only place in San Francisco to watch Division 1 basketball.
Live Fit Gym Polk Street

One of the best gyms Ive been a part of! It feels very boutique as there arent a ton of members. You can always get the machine you want. The hours 6 - 11pm are also great! Very convenient location on Polk in Nob Hill.I also have to give a shoutout to the manager, Daniel Liu, who created a welcome and community focused environment from the day I visited to over a year of membership. He also said hi to me and even gave me tips on form. I may have moved from San Francisco but Ill still hold my LiveFit experience close to me

Title: Extremely Disappointed with Live Fit GymRating: ⭐I have been a member of Live Fit Gym for a little over 4 months now, and I must say that my experience has been extremely disappointing. When I initially joined, I was skeptical about the value of this gym being the premier choice in their monthly package deal. However, due to its convenient location and the presence of a sauna, I decided to give it a try and signed up. Unfortunately, my expectations were far from met.One of the major downsides of Live Fit Gym is its small facility. Considering the premium pricing and its association with the Fairmont Hotel, I expected more space and amenities. Surprisingly, I discovered that this location is at the higher tier for access to a sauna and steam room, which are supposedly exclusive to this location and not available at other Live Fit gyms. However, the disappointment did not stop there. Throughout my membership, the steam room rarely worked and was out of order most days, including the past week. This lack of maintenance is unacceptable, especially considering the premium membership price. But what adds insult to injury is the state of the mens bathroom during the day. It is absolutely disgusting, with urine all over the toilet seats. It is disheartening to witness the general manager, who should be accountable for cleanliness, neglecting these issues. I have seen him inspect the facilities and bathroom multiple times, yet he does nothing to address the filth. Even worse, he used the sink filled with someones shavings and left it for the next guest. How can someone be an effective manager if they dont lead by example?I want to make it clear that I dont intend to get anyone in trouble with this review. My purpose is to express my disappointment and concern about the way my higher-priced membership is being utilized. It is disheartening to see the lack of attention from the leadership team towards these issues. I strongly urge the upper management to conduct an unannounced visit to the facility to witness firsthand how poorly maintained it is.Furthermore, it is worth noting that Live Fit Gym does not offer any classes at any of their locations, except for one. This lack of variety and options further adds to my regret for choosing a six-month membership with Live Fit. I sincerely wish I could reverse this decision. In conclusion, my experience with Live Fit Gym has been nothing short of a letdown. The lack of functioning amenities, poor maintenance, and unsanitary conditions make it impossible for me to recommend this gym. I hope that the higher management takes immediate action to address these issues and improve the overall experience for its members.
Live Fit Gym - Mission

The gym is nice and well-maintained. My biggest complaint is the lack of curtains on the top windows. The sun beams directly onto the treadmills, which can be quite unpleasant. I prefer using the treadmills with the slats as they are easier on the knees, and I like to start my workout with a 30-minute run. However, due to the harsh sunlight hitting the left side of my face, I had to cut my run down to just 10 minutes. Not only is this a nuisance, but it also poses a potential safety issue. When you have runners on the treadmills in the morning, there is a risk of a blinding light hitting them directly in the eyes, which could lead to accidents. This is just something for the gym management to consider. Installing some curtains or tinting the windows could significantly improve the comfort and safety of the gym members during peak sunlight hours.
