Beyond Pilates Studio, Kensington
4085 Adams Ave, San Diego, CA 92116, United States
I have been going to Beyond Pilates for several years now and I love the diversity of classes from Spin, Pilates, Yoga, Cardio Barre. It is a great mix of classes for the price. All the instructors are knowledgeable and happy to be there. And most importantly, the owner is always responsive if you have a question about payment, classes, changing plans or need to take a break due to extensive work travel. Unlike other owners of local Pilates studios, the owner here immediately gets back to you and there is no quibbling over details...he always takes care of the customer. And I know that this is not his full time job which makes it even more lovely to do business with Beyond Pilates.

On the Mat with Allison - Private Yoga Classes
North Park, San Diego, CA 92104, United States
First, as a Prelude, I do very few reviews. on the mat with Allison, what can I say. Private, in-home, one-on-one interaction between student and teacher Beats any Zoom online instruction homeschooling at its best. I started as a 65 + inflexible male. Ive practiced with Alison for the past five months, twice per week. Years ago I took yoga classes at the Y, that was the extent of my yoga experience. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Allison, besides being on time for appointments which is very rare in San Diego, she is very attentive, ensuring I am properly posed and getting the maximum out of each lesson. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Allison, she is a fantastic teacher, challenging and accommodating. She encourages you to do your best for what your body needs. Her experience and knowledge of the yoga practice is amazing. I always look forward to Allisons sessions, as I know it was just what I needed. I encourage everyone to check out her classes you wont be disappointed. Big shout out to on the mat with Allison

Beyond Pilates Studio, Del Cerro
6398 Del Cerro Blvd #5, San Diego, CA 92120, United States
The Change is Real!Patricia G. MartinMy husband and I signed up for the 5 session introductory offer at the Pilates studio in Del Cerro and after ONE session we switched to the 10 session introductory offer. After two sessions we were hooked and signed up for the 144 sessions! Every one of the instructors are skilled, supportive, and knowledgeable. Now after 13 sessions, I know with complete confidence that this is a lifestyle for me and my husband for the rest of our lives. We feel stronger and more flexible than we have in a long time. Throughout our lives we have maintained our fitness, utilizing many different gyms, personal trainers, and yoga classes, but this is the first time we feel we are getting a complete body workout where we are feeling and seeing amazing changes. And Pilates has fed this incredible cycle where the more Pilates we do, the better we feel, the more often we plan and eat more heathy meals. In just thirteen sessions, I have lost four inches and six pounds. Joseph Pilates said In 10 sessions youll feel the difference, in 20 sessions youll see the difference, and in 30 sessions youll have a whole new body. There is no doubt in my mind that this statement is true!

Beyond Pilates Academy & Studio, San Diego
310 K St, San Diego, CA 92101, United States
I was coming to this studio pre-pandemic, before it was BASI. When that studio closed during the pandemic, I was bummed as I live downtown and so enjoyed the classes and instructors. Imagine my delight when it reopened as BASI - and better than ever! All new equipment, not to mention the best reformers Ive used in 15 years of doing Pilates, and the instructors are incredible. I happily joined as a member and enjoy regular morning classes with Annie, Galina, and Dana. I look forward to trying other instructors - and love that the membership allows me to take classes at the other BASI locations in SD as well. All the thumbs up for BASI!

I waited a good while before I decided to leave a review. I began ~ 6 months ago in June (maybe July?). Nicole was my first impression of the studio and she set the bar high! Later, I met Bianca and she was amazing too! Their classes are so different, even if it's the same class type, they teach so differently. They are both challenging instructors, just different - Nicole is a feisty, spit-fire gymnast and Bianca a statuesque, controlled ballerina. They are both phenomenal instructors and such sweet people, fun to be around. I work full-time, so I can only take the night classes during the week and morning classes on weekends and all have been great. No matter what class/when, I always leave feeling challenged; I always leave feeling it was worth the hour away from my family. I was in the fitness industry for nearly a decade “a lifetime ago” and have seen pretty much all genres of “gyms” and all kinds of instructors. Pilates Fusion is top notch! It's the studio other Pilates studios say they are, but aren't. I shopped around before committing (it's an investment financially and I wanted to make sure I was going to love it). Other studios still felt like cookie cutter, corporate gyms. I felt like instructors didn't necessarily care about me not what I was doing/learning. Some didn't check in about past injuries nor check my positioning through the classes. I could go on and on about what other studios didn't do, but it's obvious they didn't make the cut since they aren't getting my patronage and this studio is. I am telling you, Pilates Fusion is amazing! I love it! It is clean, quaint, quiet, has great people and amazing energy -no fluorescent lights, intimidating members/instructors or dumbbell clanking here (thank goodness!). Both Bianca and Nicole are beyond knowledgable and flexible with individual modifications throughout their instruction; this is not a turn-key studio! It's almost like going to a private session due to their attentiveness and the boutique class sizes. They always have fresh routines and new challenges. I'm telling you, if you're thinking about, stop thinking and just do it (not to be cliche). See you there!

Pilates Room Studios College Mission Gorge
10330 Friars Rd #118, San Diego, CA 92120, United States
I had my first class with Betsy at Mission Gorge- she was a complete doll and the first person I saw when I walked in! She helped me pick out some great little toesox and input all my billing information into my account for me right there- I really appreciated that! The first thing I noticed, and sort of anticipated looking at the class availability, is the studios size- Its perfect. I love that the classes are no more than 10 people each, it makes for a much more fullfilling personal experience. (I hate going to classes at my gym, always so crowded and loud as they try to fit as many people in there as possible.) Your studio is perfect for a very first-class, personalized feeling. The class was awesome and Betsy seemed to really know her stuff. I appreciated her emphasis and demonstration of proper form as Im recovering from a recurring lower back injury. Its nice to have an instructer who truly understands the subsequent effect of other muscles in the body while actively targeting another. (Cause if you dont understand that, it leads to injury!)For a beginners class it was still very challenging and Im feeling it a day later! Love it. Cant wait to come back and I regret not trying Pilates sooner in my 24 years of life. Betsy was also very helpful in explaining your membership program (I am starting first with my Groupon) and informed me of the savings Id receive if I signed up for a true membership before my Groupon trial is over. Glad she told me! Im going to take advantage of it :)All in all, 5/5 for you guys! Ive let my fitness go for a while and have been having a hard time getting back on the horse with a fun refreshing workout routine- it looks like you guys may be my miracle pill! Thanks for the great service and experience, Betsy. And thanks Pilates Room for coming to Mission Gorge!

Yoga Box
909 Grand Ave, San Diego, CA 92109, United States
Literally the BEST yoga studio in San Diego. I tried several hot yoga studios when I moved here and none were challenging and upbeat while still being mindful and allowing me to connect to myself - I’m SO thankful I found Yoga box. I’m the strongest and most fit / flexible I’ve ever been by going 3-4 times a week (I no longer even go to the gym). Instructors are super personable and welcoming of all levels which I appreciate and value. Shout out to Jenna, Martine, and Jaclyn - I’ve been going to their weekly classes the past 4 months and they are absolutely incredible!!! They make me feel so welcome and challenge me and my boyfriend every class. The lighting, music, and energy is just unmatched in San Diego. I go to the pacific beach location! 10/10 if you want to sweat your a** off, release, connect more deeply to yourself, and become stronger and more fit.

Spirit Yoga Studios
1559 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA 92109, United States
Ive called Spirit my home yoga studio for years -- and though I travel and practice around the world, Im always happy to step through its doors in Pacific Beach and drop in for wonderful flows and great energy. Some of my favorite yoga teachers in San Diego gift their voice within, and offer YTT programs to grow the next generation of spirit builders.Returning after a break during the onset of Covid has rekindled much yogic joy in my mind & body. Spirit has adapted well to the needs of the community with safety measures that still allow for a healthy & enjoyable practice. Lately Ive been relishing the 330pm Tuesday/Thursday classes with Sarah Mondet. A $5 community class, the 330pm timeslots are often given to newly minted yoga teachers honing their flows, pace, and playlists. Sarahs class has been an absolute joy, due to both her burgeoning powers as a teacher and also an inner light that cannot help but shine through to studios practitioners. Shes a fantastic testament to the Spirit YTT program and I look forward to every class (especially as a break while remote working!). I cant wait for more of her flows and to revisit some of San Diegos best teachers at the studio in the weeks ahead. Go grab a mat and make your way to Spirit!

Absolutely loved being able to practice at Heart Yoga (again) while being on vacation in San Diego!San Diego, you have no idea what has shown up on your beach !Jason has acquired a beautiful intimate yoga studio that mirrors his unique ability to guide you on the most intimate inward journey . . . Holding space for you while encouraging you to witness your breath and flow through asanas in a mindful moving meditation . . .Jason has an approach to yoga that you cannot find anywhere else . . . While you may hear him say ‘there are no levels in yoga’, I can say after taking literally over a thousand yoga classes, Jason is a ‘master’ guide . . . If you have the opportunity to flow in his studio - I promise, you will not be disappointed . . . ?
