24 Hour Fitness
2800 N Main St Unit 3100, Santa Ana, CA 92705, United States
I had high hopes for this gym. Theres a lot of great things about it but its poor floor plan brought my rating down significantly. The positives:- the pool area is great. Its outdoors and has lots of room.- the basketball court is awesome, I wont ever use it but its huge and also outdoors.- the rig they have setup at the functional training area is awesome. This is the first 24 Ive seen with a complete set of bumper plates. The negatives:the floor plan isnt the best.- The rig I mentioned in the previous section does not have nearly enough room for its intended purpose. Theres not enough room to use the TRX suspension trainers and its difficult to use the barbells and do power lifts with such little room.- the cubicle for the personal trainers is nearly smack dab in the middle of the functional training area right next to the TRX/powerlifting rig.- the kettle bells should be moved over towards the open floor area and not stuck near the corner where there is no room to use them, especially for swings and thrusts.- theres no designated walk space for people to get to the cycling and group x rooms so theres constantly people walking through the already cramped functional training area. Not a great idea and a complete liability when people are trying to power lift.- the cardio section is way too big. There are too many cardio machines. This isnt the 90s anymore. People dont do as much cardio as they used to, especially now with many women lifting as well. They should have used more of that space for more weights, resistance machines, and especially the functional training area. This place is brand new so everything is clean and for the most part all the weights are in the proper positions. I hope they dont end up like all the other 24s in the area and stop keeping up with the maintenance.*Update* 8/21/2015So theyve had the bumper plates removed for almost 3 months now. When they first removed them they told me they were going to move the huge power rack/rig over to the cardio section. I have yet to see any progress of that. Also theyve been slacking just like the other 24 Hour Fitnesses in the area. During the busiest hours the dirty towels pile high and spill over in their bins, and often they dont have enough clean towels. The weights and equipment are scattered throughout the gym and sometimes nowhere near where they are supposed to be. I understand you cant always pick up after everybody but Ive seen personal trainers not even re-rack their clients weights.

CRS Sports and Fitness Academy
550 W 3rd St, Santa Ana, CA 92701, United States
Been with CRS for a couple years now and have yet to find flaws worth noting. Coaches truly care about the kids and the training is very detailed. I love how they also teach discipline! Definitely not a place you take your kids just for babysitting. You come to train and get better! All love! Coach Cam and Matt are the best! Huge facility! What more could you ask for?

Landmark
3501 W Sunflower Ave #100, Santa Ana, CA 92704, United States
Wow!! I just experienced the Landmark Forum for the second time. First go around was 5 years ago and it was transformational then. At the time, I probably connected the dots about 60%, mostly because the concepts were so new and radical to me. I had trouble understanding and absorbing it all and also, l was in a different place in life (too analytical and closed up). This second time around the skies opened up for me and I KNOW that I will be living the powerful life I want to live. This time I connected the dots at 100%, primarily thanks the most amazing coach I have had the opportunity to experience - Gary Bishop. Gary is extremely talented, a subject matter expert and amazing on his delivery. The man is so incredibly witty and funny that he turns even the most complex concept into an aha moment. His passion for what he does is so apparent and inspiring to me. This man gives his all when delivering the curriculum and his results this weekend were extraordinary, not just for me but for the majority of the attendees. Thank you Gary Bishop and Landmark, I am now reborn and looking forward to this new and exciting life ahead of me. Namaste, Adriana Petersen

Teachers are very nice, love the education everything was awesome except they promise you a job after finishing externship; I graduated in December and it's been 5 months without employment due to having little to no experience, anyways they help you get interviews but give up on you after 2 times and want to work on interviewing skills again it really sucks. Plus they favoritism students I remember explaining to the counselors how certain students were rude in multiple ways and at the end of the day they're the ones that got job and the hard workers were left without to just gave up on them.

Oh to be young and free. To climb and live life with abandon. Gone are those days for me and probably for most people when they come here they don't feel nostalgia like I do. That's because most didn't climb every moment they could, work and sleep at a climbing gym and fully immerse themselves in the subculture that was the climbing community. A tendon injury forcibly removed me from it. Being years removed from that life has taught me many things, but my first thought was “wow”.The notables. It's huge. Like 3 times the size of my old gym and taller. Top out boulder, hi tech walls, brand new holds, top notch setters, tons of staff, lessons on the hour. Expensive. Everyone is so young here. Still very bro-centric being in Orange County, it's much less dirty bag climbing life. Hi tech logins, finger print scanning, it's more than a climbing gym, they've got Yoga, showers, etc. My climbing journey started in my early 20's where I went from bouldering to setting, to sport climbing to trad, rescue and onto free soloing. It was about the outdoor experience. Now people use the gym to stay strong for outside, not as a fall back to when they could not get outside. I've seen and done it all. The old saying “gym make you strong like bull, dumb like wall”. Climbing colored and taped holds is one thing, but much less pure than climbing outside. Some cons are the ergo of it, doesn't flow, no traverse, no non climbing specific workout machines, way too much spray, like from everyone. Where I come from and from when I come from you climb, spray your beta somewhere else members because I may not have the strength and endurance I use to, but my technique is still above average and I still think like a climber, not a gym boulderer. It's poor form. There is a social aspect in the gym you can't get away from, but if I'm climbing 2's in the corner with my headphones on, don't bother me. Kids these days don't learn the etiquette of real climbing when they stay in their gym. Top ropes use gri gri's, both those and lead require separate certs, though I saw some pretty questionable technique from certified members and instructors teaching. Strong ties to local soler Evolv which is great. If your looking to get into climbing, come here because it's new, hi tech, modern and legit. If your looking to get into rock climbing you may needlessly be wasting quite a bit of money by getting your membership here.
