Here is our rhyme about how AMAZING Movement Hub is...Stephen ROSSIs the BOSSI don't get LOSTCuz he keeps up my FITNESSHe passes the LITMUSWe are TESTEDTo be our BESTHe's an ATHELTEAlways on his FEETThat can't be BEATGet rock hard ABSWithout building up a huge TABMovement HUBIs THE fitness CLUB:)Ok no but for real- Stephen Ross is amazing! My now husband and I went to Stephen because we wanted to get in shape and feel fit for our wedding (more me to fit into my mermaid style wedding dress). We joined his Kickstarter Boot Camp at his gym, the Movement Hub in Santa Clara. In the camp, there were people of all ages, body types, all athletic levels, and goals. It was so nice to see a variety of people joining together to get healthy. Stephen worked hard to come up with a dynamic workout that would fit each person's need. He would differentiate the workout and adapt the sets if needed for the group or individual. All while making it fun- for example, sometimes he would have us make teams and compete to push us- or have circuits with many different activities focusing on different muscles to give us a full body workout! He changed it up each week to make it interesting! The climate at the Movement Hub was always lighthearted, fun, and encouraging. Stephen wanted everyone to feel comfortable and successful in their workout. He would come work with you one-on-one if you needed support adjusting the set for you. That is so key! I loved every minute of my workouts with Stephen Ross at the Movement Hub. He encouraged us to be our best selves- healthy & fit with a smile! My husband and I love Stephen! We can't wait for our next camp with him!

I have recently become a full member at this gym and can say with certainty that it is a wonderful gym and business in general. From my very first interactions with Paul over the phone, I was treated with friendliness, professionalism, and courtesy.Ill just stop and take a moment before I continue to state that I have always found the idea of working out a gym daunting and intimidating. I tend to be an introverted and shy person that hides in my home doing workout DVDs and using my stationary bike. I was prompted by my fiances initial experiences with the owner, Jay, and those of using the gym in general, to give it a try.I came in and had a chat with Jay about the basic rules and expectations in the gym. They are all created and enforced with the safety, comfort, and general consideration of all the members of the gym. Jay was very straight-forward, thorough, and friendly while explaining everything to me. I was issued a temporary key fob to try out the 2-week pass and he even allowed my fiance to give me the tour which was more comfortable for me.The gym offers more than you would think when looking in from the outside. Tucked into a strip mall, the amount of equipment and space is surprising. There is a weight-lifting area in the back with benches and different options for lifting. My fiance spent most of his time in this section. There are several pieces of cardio equipment right up front: elliptical machines, treadmills, recumbent stationary bike, and rowing machine and numerous strength training equipment stations to work all the muscle groups you can think of! The equipment is all in great condition (and their expectations of the members help keep it that way) and I really appreciate how each of the strength equipment stations have instructions on them.Additionally, there is a side room that has a kiosk allowing you to choose workouts using a touch screen, which lowers a projector screen and automatically runs a workout instructional video for step aerobics, spinning, and more. The room is also used for the group classes that are held 3 times a week. I recently attended a group class and the instructor was helpful in correcting my form without making me feel embarrassed or silly (a fear of mine).Tonight, I took advantage of the free personal fitness consultation that comes with joining as a member. My trainer is Montique and he really made me feel comfortable. After a brief chat where I explained my current workout regimen and injury/medical facts of note he led me through a workout that had me out of breath and sweating (both good things)! He wasnt bossy or pushy and again, I found he helped me with my form in a way that wasnt humiliating. Having the consultation was out of my comfort zone but I am so glad I did it. I will be back for a follow-up session next week and am looking forward to it!Overall, Anytime Fitness is fantastic. The owner is friendly to everyone and truly seems passionate about his gym and the members, which he obviously looks for in the staff he hires, as well. If youre thinking of giving it a try, do it!

Title: Mixed Experience at Orange Theory Fitness: A Call for Humanity and Flexibility.Review:My journey with Orange Theory Fitness has been a mix of highs and lows, but recent encounters have left me questioning the gyms commitment to its members well-being. While I appreciate the intense workouts and motivational atmosphere, certain aspects demand attention for the gym to truly thrive.Firstly, the parking challenges surrounding the gym have been a constant source of frustration. Finding a suitable parking spot nearby is time-consuming, often leading to delays in reaching the class on time.On one such occasion, the lack of available parking made me a FEW SECONDS late for a class. They give 5 mins grace to save your hefty $14, My class was at 5:45PM and I reached at 5:50:10PM. I rushed to the gym, hoping for understanding from the front desk staff, but instead, I faced an unyielding and inhumane response. Paulina and Natassjas robotic adherence to the late arrival policy left me feeling undervalued as a customer. As a loyal member, I find it disheartening to witness a gym prioritizing profit over its members well-being. If someone shows up dressed and ready for a class, only to find it far from fully booked, why should they be charged for a last-minute cancellation? Its a question that remains unanswered by the management. Why is the studio so desperate to make money? Moreover, the strict late cancellation policy perplexes me, particularly when the class is not even close to being fully booked. Being charged a hefty fee for an unfilled class seems unjust and profit-driven, rather than customer-centric. It raises the question of whether the gym prioritizes its members or its bottom line.Engaging in a conversation with the manager, Taylor, did little to ease my concerns. Her lack of empathy and reluctance to address these issues only reinforced the notion that the gyms priorities might be misaligned. As a devoted member, I believe Orange Theory Fitness must reevaluate its policies to prioritize humanity and customer satisfaction. Being respectful and sweet in communication does not excuse a lack of empathy and understanding. The staffs inhumane behavior towards minor delays and unforeseen circumstances creates a negative and unwelcoming environment for loyal members like myself. In conclusion, Orange Theory Fitness has the potential to foster a positive and supportive community. To achieve this, they must address the parking challenges and adopt a more reasonable and compassionate approach to late arrivals and cancellations. Customers are calling for transparency, flexibility, and genuine care - the pillars of a successful and enduring gym experience.

Title: Misleading Advertisements and Disappointing Experience at Orange Theory FitnessRating: ★☆☆☆☆I signed up for Orange Theory Fitness in January, lured by their enticing promotion of $25 for a month of classes and their claim of cancel anytime you like. Little did I know that this would be the start of a frustrating experience. After attending just one class, I decided that Orange Theory wasnt the right fit for me and attempted to cancel within the month. Unfortunately, my numerous phone calls went unanswered, leaving me with no choice but to persevere. Finally, after multiple attempts, I managed to get through to someone who agreed to cancel my membership. However, to my dismay, they still deducted a hefty $220 for the following month.I explained my situation, emphasizing that I had only attended one class and came to the decision to cancel soon after. I mentioned their advertised money back guarantee, expecting a full refund. However, the manager I spoke with was rude, unyielding, and refused to refund me the $220.It is disheartening that a company that boasts such a guarantee does not honor it when customers genuinely want to cancel. I was petrified to learn that there was some small print in the contract requiring a one-month prior cancellation notice. How was I supposed to anticipate this when I had only attended one class and wished to cancel immediately? The manager reluctantly granted me an extension until the end of April, but this does not address the core issue at hand. Why should I be forced to pay $220 for services I am unable to use due to circumstances beyond my control? It is clear that the marketing claims made by Orange Theory Fitness do not align with the reality of their contracts.I write this review to caution others about the misleading advertisements and contractual obligations imposed by Orange Theory Fitness. Be wary of the promises they make, as they may not stand by them in practice. My experience has been disappointing, and I strongly urge anyone considering joining Orange Theory Fitness to thoroughly read and understand the terms before committing.I am extremely disappointed by this unfortunate series of events and sincerely hope that Orange Theory Fitness reevaluates their policies to align with the transparent and customer-centric experience they advertise. As a customer who had high hopes for this fitness facility, I now find myself $220 short and dissatisfied.

Jon is just an amazing personal trainer, who is attentive to your current state, but strict enough to not let you get too lazy. :) The place is private and quiet, which I really like, I feel safe there. You can have private or semi-private sessions and both are good!Definitely recommend to meet Jon, he is a great person as well! :)

I honestly really love this OTF location. The equipment feels new and clean. The bathrooms, lockers, and water fillers are nice. I haven't found parking to be very difficult, especially during the mornings. The staff are very sweet and kind. They've helped me out quite a few times with HR monitor stuff, rescheduling when I'm sick, talking about membership options, etc. It's very nice they shout out members' achievements on the calendar board. The other members are very supportive and friendly as well. The workouts feel challenging, but approachable modifications are provided and everyone goes at the pace that works for them. Overall, it's a great judgement-free environment. I especially enjoy coach Tim's classes.I have a membership, but it's nice to know this location also offers class packs. I like that my membership allows me access to all OTF locations, and I've had an easy time scheduling at other gyms when I travel. The only thing is I wish it were more clear that the membership options have a 2 month minimum. Just be sure to sign up for the one you'll be able to commit to using :)

Accessible Fitness

Its very hard to find a personal trainer who takes special interest in you. I was never successful in finding a good one especially thru the big fitness center chains. The trainers keep changing and you lose focus and most importantly you dont see any desirable results (at least I didnt) and beyond a stage it becomes too heavy on your wallet as well and you give up.Thru a good friend I got introduced to AccessibleFitness and have been training with Paul & Judy for over 3 months (longest ever) and I see amazing results. The variety of exercises that they make you do is what the difference is. Their focus is You and different areas of Your body whether it be legs, biceps, triceps, core/abdomen etc. They exactly know how & which muscle to shock & when to do so and that is the only way (w.r.t exercise) you can develop the body that you dream for. While exercise is one part, the other part is their nutrition plan. Its tailor made for you. A few weeks after following it religiously + the training with Paul & Judy, I do see a lot of changes in my body. And its very addictive. The place is very clean and nice. You may not see a huge facility but that place will give you a run for the money for the half or 1 hour you are there. The staff is friendly and helpful. Judy & Paul are awesome & training with them is always fun.If you are serious about weight loss or strength training then this is the place to go. Paul is an absolute inspiration.

Nakano Judo Academy
2072 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050, United States
I absolutely love this place! And its not just me -- I know a couple of folks who brave the long drive from the East Bay after a long day of school or work just to attend class. Nakano Judo Academy is an excellent, welcoming, and fun place to train no matter what level, age, or goal. There truly is something for everyone. I personally joined the adult class, as pretty much a complete beginner, to get fit in my 30s. The only reason Im leaving is because Im moving out of the SF Bay Area. But judo here helped me lose over 30 pounds in about 6 months (along with a proper diet, which I was very motivated to have since I didnt want to compete in the +100kg openweight category in tournaments ?) and feel healthy. The sensei is the nicest most welcoming person and youll never feel out of place in the dojo even if youre a complete beginner (theres always complete beginners anyway) or young or older. The students, and especially the ranked belts, are also so nice, welcoming, and eager to help you settle in and learn no matter what level you are. If youre a complete beginner or older (or both) and wary of being injured by ramping up participation in a combat sport, there is no stigma or shame at all in taking it easy at first. Youll be fine.At the time of this writing, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the fundamentals days, while the longer Monday and Wednesday sessions are focused more on competition/randori/conditioning. Theres a Saturday class thats like a shorter Monday/Wednesday class. Tuesday is most often newaza day, and Thursday is most often stand up day. A lot of the same things are covered during the fundamentals days, which at first I thought was repetitive, but I soon realized was kind of the point -- drilling in the moves youll most likely use or see in practice or competition, especially as a beginner. Theres a lot of nuances to every move anyway (much like a simple golf or tennis swing which are drilled to infinity) and I appreciated how the sensei and other upper ranked students have something different to teach you every time. In other words, the instruction is focused on what works, and in what contexts, given the senseis experience as an elite level competitor with the Japanese national team. I appreciated getting the context to everything we learned since I could readily apply it in randori or try to troubleshoot when things arent working. Or just appreciate it when youre at the receiving end of a nicely executed throw! But there is a lot of material to cover, and if you stick around, youll get the benefit of the senseis experience competing and training with the best. If youre like me and focused primarily on getting fit and not really on competing, thats really helpful anyway in motivating me to excitedly attend and learn something new or polish up an old skill every single class. The facilities are clean and the mats feel great to fall in. The commute from Mountain View is easy and theres easy parking everywhere. Youll make good friends. Youll be healthy. If you want to be good at this, you certainly can. If like me you want to pick up a hobby that you can keep up for a long time to stay healthy, this is the place to go.

Ive been training with Kuldeep for over 8 months now and couldnt be happier. I played Division I basketball at Santa Clara University and professionally overseas. He tailors my workout program to my specific needs based on the sport I play. He also asks questions to help understand what areas I want to improve in. His knowledge of how to train and create lifting programs are excellent, but his ability to connect on a human level to find what motivates me is what separates him at his craft. He not only helps me to be prepared physically for what the court demands, but mentally as well. He helps me think about my mindset and how I approach my workouts, basketball, and life. Ive learned a lot from Kuldeep and would recommend him to anyone. Whether you are an athlete or just beginning to lift, Kudeep understands how to customize his approach to fit anyones needs.

Highly recommend Krav Maga self-defence training, their fitness program and all the workshops (offline and online). After giving a birth I became more anxious and nervous while being home alone, it started seem almost like neurosis. Then my husband recommended me to try self-defence class and I found KMI. I was not sure if Im doing right when I started the training. I thought that it could increase my panic and I will be constantly thinking about worse case scenario. But it turned out right opposite. This class gave me confidence and I became calmer and more relaxed. That is what I was looking for. They have an amazing instructors, they are so fun and professional and helpful and understanding. They all have a little bit different style of teaching which is also great because you can learn a lot from all of them!Unfortunately during the COVID they had to stop contact training. But they have online training which is so great! I just attended online workshop women self-defence and it was full of useful tips was way deeper and more structured than any Youtube video on this topic.I love their approach and highly recommend to everyone who wants to feel confident, empowered and strong - physically and (what is even more important) mentally.
