DIAKADI Fitness Performance Life
290 Division St Fl 2, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States
I was lucky enough to be chosen for their internship program and from the start Billy and Mike helped me establish my goals for a successful personal training business. While in the program I was given an inspiring environment and the right mentorship to gain skills and knowledge to become the best trainer for my clients. The staff is attentive and the facility is always clean without the crowding seen at big box gyms. The community is friendly and the trainers were always willing to help me when I had questions. They’re focused on continuing education and hold certification courses at DIAKADI for trainers throughout the bay area. The trainers at DIAKADI have an abundance of knowledge across the fitness spectrum. Whether they’ve been training for 25 years or 1 year, they’re experts in their specialties. Throughout the facility there are trainers certified in strength and conditioning, running, holistic lifestyle, nutrition, corrective exercise as well as in house physical therapists, and massage therapists. No matter what you’re training for a marathon, strength, weight loss, mobility, or just want to create a healthier lifestyle the trainers work with you to see your goals through. During my internship I saw clients who were experienced athletes to clients who were just learning about fitness to clients going through rehabilitation. If you’re looking to get motivated on your fitness goals, DIAKADI is the place to go.

Over the last four months, I’ve been working with Tarah (nutrition) and Brandon (training) and have had an amazing experience with both of them!I came to Tarah wanting to learn more about nutrition, to see if there was a way to eat healthy without sacrificing taste, to support my fitness goals, and to have consistent energy throughout the day instead of sugar crashing constantly. She designed a program for me based on my lifestyle and tastes, taught me how to focus on my macros instead of obsessing over a calorie limit, supplied me with delicious, healthy recipes, and helped me see that I could eat healthy in a way that was sustainable to me. Now, I have a new mindfulness about what I’m putting in my body, consistent energy throughout the day, recipes that I love (discovered the magic of lentils and chickpeas!), and most importantly a healthy relationship with food.I’ve also been working with Brandon twice a week since January. Brandon is the perfect blend of tough and encouraging. Our workouts are really fun — he brings a lot of creativity and is always mixing it up and incorporating new exercises — and he is always watching me and making adjustments to ensure I’m not at risk of injury. My physical (and mental!) strength, mobility, and endurance have all increased since working with Brandon, and I truly feel like he is setting me up with healthy habits/workouts for life.Amazingly, I’ve lost 7 lbs since January, in a way that feels healthy, sustainable, and without ever feeling like I was hungry. I’m SO grateful to Tarah and Brandon for giving me the tools, knowledge, encouragement, and accountability to get my health on track and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to do the same.

Im currently rehabbing from my 4th knee surgery (ACL), and as an early-30s active guy, had started doubting that I could get back to sports, or even get through the day without the constant discomfort Id felt since my first surgery four years ago. Working with TJ for the past year has shed those doubts and allowed me to feel stronger and more stable than I ever have.Having worked with several PTs during my recovery, what sets TJ apart is his ability to personalize a program based on keen observation of my body structure and areas of weakness. He takes the time to explain any issues he sees and tracks progress with me each week. It makes it so much more motivating to complete my exercises when I know what Im building towards and can feel results within weeks. On top of that, hes a kind and warm person, which makes me look forward to coming in each week even though the sessions arent easy!Sergio is also excellent at demonstrating exercises and keeping me progressing during sessions. Hes a high energy, positive, and fun person to be around. As a bonus, the space is incredibly clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully arranged. Lots of natural light, which makes it a nice place to take a break from the office.Of course, recovery ultimately depends on the work put in, but couldnt ask for a better team to guide me along the path.

Accelerate Sports Performance is a one of a kind gym. I’ve been a member for well over a decade and nothing quite compares. As I’ve encountered a few different injuries along the way in my fitness journey, ASP has always been able to meet my needs. Jared, Jack, and Hannah are dedicated, passionate, and make the perfect individualized program for you so you can reach your own best personal potential. With their hands on guidance and support, you learn so much about the proper mechanics, science, form, and brain connections that go along with each movement. I know far more about my body, my athletic strengths and weaknesses, and my overall physical health and well being thanks to ASP. Whether I am at ASP in San Francisco or overseas, I’m able to follow a program that is best for me and I am always happy with the outcome.

I've had the pleasure of being a member of Fidi OTF for over a year now. The workouts are a great mix of strength training and cardio. However, hands down the best part of orange theory is the community and I can honestly say the Fidi location has the best community. The staff, coaches, and other members are awesome. Ileana, Cassy, and Anthony are always helpful and greet you with a smile before every class. Cheyenne and Molly are great coaches and always make sure I push myself to the limit. At no fault of the Fidi location or their staff, I do not like how corporate OTF moves their coaches and staff to different locations often. OTF is all about consistency and community and it is hard when your favorite coaches get moved to new locations frequently. With that said, I've been to many OTF locations and none of them come close to how amazing the Fidi location is! Do yourself a favor and drop in and chat with some of their amazing staff.

... and strength training. This was important because he used our convo to match me with the right trainer - Alvaro Campos. What can I say - its worked really well between Alvaro and myself. I didnt know it at the time, but I was seeking a re-architecting of my overall lifestyle to be healthier and fitter and happier - and hes been my co-pilot in this overall effort. He adopts a more holistic approach to fitness and wellness - we talk about diet and recipes as much as we work out. He approaches both strength training and nutrition from a science-based focus that suits me well (he likes to send me research studies to read in my spare time). He provides the right mix of accountability (I used to share a food journal with him for accountability) and kindness and humor. And he doesnt hesitate to go above and beyond - always accessible outside of work hours, etc. I had to go for a 3-week trip and even though we paused the sessions then, he created a strength-training program for me to maintain results while traveling. It has never felt transactional with the team at Gymworx.Losing all that weight has given me my life back. I feel like Ive reconnected and am back in control of my physical self. I can wear my regular clothes again, my joints no longer have the stress and I have more energy than ever. I can look myself in the mirror again and Im truly happy with myself.Ive added some progress photos of myself as an indication (because Im shy, its only face shots lol). What Happens Next:In line with the re-architecting of my lifestyle, this is a never-ending process. There are still goals I want to achieve - I still want to lose another 20 pounds at least and Im only 2+ months in. Eventually, I will want to plateau off the weight/fat loss and build muscle. So Ill be continuing with Gymworx. But I really appreciate that the focus has been on giving me the tools to build a sustainable lifestyle that I want forward!Pros:Builds a relationship with you and really hears you - matching ...

Todd Fitness Personal Training
1470 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States
I was looking around for a personal trainer and connected with Todd based on the great reviews on Yelp. Right from the start, Todd was extremely prompt with his communication and we were scheduled for a free assessment within a couple of days. He even set me up with a week-long pass to the gymTodd used the assessment to understand my physical state, my flexibility, movement issues, etc by having me do a couple of reps of a host of exercises. At the end of the session, we discussed what a training plan would look like. What I really liked about his training program was that he was willing to work around my constraints. I wanted to work with a trainer just once a week and he was willing to give me structure homework routines to do on my own on the other days. He also used MyFitnessPal to keep a track of diet and make suggestions. After the session, he was great about following up and answering any questions that I had.Overall, I had a great experience with Todd and I would highly recommend considering him if youre in the market for a personal trainer.

Took my first OTF class today (after MANY group fitness classes at Barrys and Soul Cycle) and just getting back to working out after an injury. I debated btw 3 and 4 stars and decided to give them credit for being welcoming and enthusiastic. The truth will be in a longer term relationship with them.THE WORKOUT: Its same basic format of other grp fitness classes, with more of a work at your own pace vibe. For me, it was a little less external pressure to compete, and maybe a little more internal pressure to challenge myself through the tech monitoring and reporting tools (heart rate and endurance tracked during class and saved in personal profile in the app) which the geek in me thought was cool. One class means only one experience, but the coach (Camilo) was friendly, helpful, motivating without being overbearing and seemed qualified.THE MEMBERSHIP: The sales pressure from the front desk/office may be more than other places but, ultimately, you just have to give them a direct answer to their questions about getting a membership or just paying for classes a la carte. I got a 10 class pack bc they wouldnt expire as quickly as the monthly (use it or lose it) memberships at only a slightly higher cost. Their job is to sell classes, yours is to make a decision that makes sense to you. Another muscle you can train is your BACK BONE when getting sold things! Otherwise, the desk staff was very personable and helpful.THE FACILITY: Same basic setup as Barrys and Soul for public spaces and workout room. New facility so clean and shiny (for now, at least). Five all-gender private shower rooms, a couple of public restrooms and dozens of small & medium public lockers with programmable locks. You can sign up on shower doors to reserve a space in line but it relies on common courtesy and honor system to work.NOTES: The heart rate monitor that plugs into the app and tracks everything is an additional $80 for one version and $120 for the better version. Also, even though their website has FREE FIRST CLASS all over it, this property only gives DISCOUNTED first class. If thats a deal breaker for you, investigate which properties honor the FFC policy before booking. I shared with the on-duty manager that I think thats shady but it doesnt seem to be her fault. Its a website integration that should warn you that youre choosing a property that doesnt honor the free thing. They must assume that they get enough business without it to bother giving away free classes. Shortsighted, but not that surprising.

To Whom It May Concern,I just cancelled my membership because of this gym. Here are some reasons why and areas of improvement I have observed in the past year and a half. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best. Its something that were paying for and doesnt work. The gym is underground and cell reception doesnt work, which makes it so you cant login to the app, listen to any streaming music services or access any of your gym information. The cleanliness is appalling. The mens locker room smells bad, the faucets are boiling hot or dont work. The air vents dont work and neither does the scale. The equipment is the worst part of the gym. Half of it is broken, not working properly or simply unsafe. It is all very unclean to the point I have skipped an exercise for the lack of sanitation. Cables have snapped on cable weight machines, treadmills are out of service, dumbbells are all out of order, separated, miss matched or simply missing. The state of the equipment is in disarray. You have newer, old and very old equipment all together making it very confusing to a customer base to know what does what. The layout of the equipment has no rhyme or reason, causing customers to walk all over the gym for different amenities. There isn't a dedicated stretching area for patrons. Last thing I will say is that the staff is either very lazy or nonexistent. I see them either sitting at the front desk not looking up from their phone just letting anyone in or not there entirely. Regarding their attentiveness, I haven't EVER seen them walking around either putting equipment back, helping someone, cleaning or enforcing rules of any kind. Some good things about the gym are the amount of treadmills and cardio equipment. It is always in high demand at other gyms and I never have trouble getting a machine. The basketball court is very nice and is a very nice amenity to have here in San Francisco. From,A Concerned Customer

Great OTF studio! The front desk staff is great. They make an effort to greet everyone by name when they come in the door, which makes you look forward to going. The studio is very clean and well organized. All of the coaches are great. Even though North Beach isnt my home studio, all of the coaches remember my name and take the time to get to know me. Molly and Amanda really know how to coach. They offer encouragement and motivation. SF Head Coach, Marquise, adds new, well-trained coaches to the rotation, like Cole. Because SF has multiple studios, other coaches appear in the rotation at North Beach. Never miss a chance to take a class with Jordan or Marquise ! North Beach also adds specialty classes and activities outside of the studio like Run Club, happy hours and trivia. This studio goes ALL OUT!
