This is my favorite place to work out. It's super efficient, effective and fun. Each class is approximately 57 minutes of exercise and a few minutes of stretching. You don't have to plan what to do; just show up and follow the coach's instructions. The exercises vary every day.The workout involves a combination of three elements: 1) weight training on the floor, where each person has a bench, set of dumbbells, TRX, resistance bands, and bosu; 2) running or walking on the treadmill; and 3) rowing. If you can't do treadmill or rower there are also a couple bikes and a stepper.Visual instructions are displayed on video screens for the floor exercises. Coaches help with modifications if you have orthopedic issues.People of all different ages and abilities go to this gym. You “compete” with yourself, not with others. You adjust your own weights and treadmill speed and incline depending on how hard you want to push yourself. Coaches provide gentle encouragement and form correction. Over time you will see improvement.The coaches are all great at this location. If you're curious, try a workout and there's absolutely no pressure to join or commit to a longterm membership.

Excellent customer service! This is not my home studio, but it feels like home to me! Warm greetings welcome each member as we walk in, socially distanced, single file, receiving a pre-workout temp check. Depending on the class size, you can usually choose where you want to start (weight floor or cardio). Im most excited to be back on a treadmill. For a while outdoor classes were offered, we would run laps in a parking garage. It was fun while it lasted!In-studio classes are offered throughout the day, lead by a variety of strong, inspiring and enthusiastic coaches. I highly recommend this gym to everyone- most exercises can be modified! Cant row? Stride! Dont run? Bike!

If I could give this gym 10 stars I would - I started Keiths virtual workouts in October while most gyms across the country were shut down. As a lot of people can relate - I gained some weight whilst spending more time at home and I needed a major push to kick start my healthy habits mindset / self accountability/ weightloss journey. The community of instructors at OC FITNESS are truly passionate, knowledgable, and inspiring day in and day out. Every workout was different and doing them at home allowed me to feel comfortable in my doubt and discomfort while in the comfort of my home .After two months of being part of this community I signed up for an in person HIIT studio in Colorado Springs. I would not have felt confident enough to step into a group fitness class had it not been for the coaching at OC Fitness - the trainers push you to work hard and get past the mental block of I cant. I initially joined the virtual workouts as a way to spend time with my sister, as I live in Colorado and not able to travel to California to see her - what I wasnt expecting was that the small goal of having sister time would turn into a life changing experience.I have now lost 15 pounds, workout 5 days a week at 6am (not a natural early bird) and I have gained the confidence to show up for myself even when I have all the excuses to not follow through. Obstacourse fitness is not only a state of the art exercise facility with top notch trainers, but also a community of real people with varying fitness levels, goals, and ages. This exercise community is the most inclusive space Ive ever been part of. I have to thank Keith and his team for setting me up for success and guiding me in creating a positive relationship with challenging exercise & in turn mentally and physically training me to follow through with my fitness journey even from 1,300 miles away. The only complaint I have is they dont have a physical location in Colorado - but rest assured that the high altitude training will have me running laps around you when I visit California Keith!

Ive attended other gyms in the past but once I found out that Peninsula Boxing & Fitness offered a Womens boxercise class I knew this would be the gym for me, 4 years now. The classes are ran by coach Nick or Cali. What I admired the most was observing coach Nick showing his love, passion,motivation and desire to make me a better individual within myself and to others.Determined to do his best as always, theres no other way.The passion he has for children and teens. Whether you want to train for competitions or not, he will always give it his best shot.It doesnt matter what size you are, there is no discrimination. You go at your pace. Its also a fun way of meeting new friends.As long as you have the motivation to want to work out Nick is 110% right there with you to teach you the fundamentals and skills you need to get started. I found out that boxing is a wonderful way to release stress, to build up my self-esteem, to get a good workout and to have a healthier life.So, if youre looking for a boxing gym, why dont you walk in and see for yourself. Your first visit is free, his prices are reasonable very clean and plenty of parking.Coach Nick is a man who really cares about people and his community. One big happy family.I know Im blessed to have him on my corner.

Really nice community where the staff knows you by name after a few visits, and newcomers are very welcome. Many classes with varied workout designs that are changed monthly. Considering the typical cost in the area for gym memberships, very reasonable pricing with no contracts, especially considering the community feel. Lots of safety measures and during COVID shutdowns, went so far as to build an outdoor gym to keep things safe. Wall that opens to keep a semi-outdoors feel for when needed as a COVID safety measure, and excellent ventilation system. Fresh towels, lockers, shower. Not a meat market the way some gyms are. Unique recharge and recovery options like cryo and red light room.

A long overdue review that Ive been eager to write...If I could give more than 5 stars to the Powerhouse Gym Elite family, I would. Hands down, this phenomenal gym is beyond training for physique, fitness goals, and competitive lifting. This is a gym that truly cares not only about your strength training goals, but your overall health and wellness and belonging to a community that truly looks out for you. I view this place as more of a community than a gym.There are a lot of choices when it comes to getting fit, and choosing a gym but my husband and I chose Powerhouse. We have been members of this gym for 30+ years! Why? Its not the location, its not the equipment, its not the affordable price…it's the people that work there. Rob and Greg are two of the most caring people on this planet! They care about their business, by keeping it clean and safe and they also care about me! This isnt your typical meat head environment where the testosterone levels are so high that you dont want to even come close to the place. They have created a friendly environment with programs, that tailor each day for success. Powerhouse has transformed me into a much stronger and efficient athlete. I appreciate that this gym is a place for everyone…There are no judgements, and so much encouragement to help one another succeed.I train with Andre Soukhamthath and saying that he is AWESOME is an understatement. I say this because, Ive had some personal trainers in the past- some great and some not so great. Andre always comes prepared with some solid workouts. Dont get me wrong, I still struggle with some of the workouts to which he will always reply You can do it...You just have to believe... to which I chuckle and grunt through the next couple of reps. His positive attitude and humor make the sessions fun, the results I see keeps me coming back. He genuinely loves what he does and always pushes me to improve and get to the next level. Andre is by far the best trainer I have ever had the privilege of working with! I highly recommend him and kudos to Powerhouse for bringing him on as part of your team.If you are reading this and thinking...wow she had WAY too much to say...I probably could say more positive things in all honesty! But its up to you… if you are looking for a place that you feel like you could dedicate yourself to with a strength and fitness lifestyle you hope to adapt for not just weeks and months but for YEARS in life! Dont hesitate to join Powerhouse! You wont regret it!Being a member of this gym is one of the best decisions Ive ever made.Thank you! You changed our lives!

INCREDIBLE PLACE. I go to the Menlo Park location and usually have Ken or Darren as my coaches. They are THE BEST - they push me hard, but are so personable, helpful, caring and FUN. I am the most fit Ive been probably since high school (which was a LONG time ago), and being in shape actually makes me want to be more active. Ive referred numerous friends. Cant say enough good things. Invest in yourself and do this!

I was Injured In a car accident. I Went to the chiropractor for 4 weeks straight. Monday Wednesday and Friday then Tuesday and Thursdays, I went to physical therapy at Kaiser. No results and my lower back problem actually got worse. I began to go to the Hudson st. YMCA and tried swimming.... Best choice I could ever have made. Within 3 weeks my lower back pain has almost totally disappeared. And not only have I realised how outta shape Ive become but Ive began to actually workout with light weights. On top of all those pluses, because I was temporarly disabled, I showed proof and the YMCA waived my initiation fee and reduced my monthly payments to $11.98 a month! I recommend anyone on disability that needs to begin some type of exercise to go to the Sequoia YMCA. NOT ONLY IS IT A BLESSING BUT THE STAFF ARE GREAT! THANKS SEQUOIA YMCA !!!!!
