Comment: Very cool little set of boutique shops right on the east side of the Coast highway and the heart of Carlsbad. Went in for a nice gelato to cool down during the mild October heat wave. Absolutely delicious ice cream. Very relaxing and they had some nice music at the Coyote bar. You can just sit outside on the bench under a tree and relax with your ice cream or they have a coffee shop, bookstores and you can even visit the dentist if you want. Seriously though, its a wonderful little shopping center thats fun just to cruise through if youre on a walk through Carlsbad. Very friendly people and extremely safe atmosphere.

Comment: We ate at The Compass upstairs and it was great! Bacon wrapped dates, deconstructed chicken pot pie and salad - all was great and my drink the waitress suggested!! Perfect date night!

Comment: The Village Faire is a great shopping center in the heart of the Carlsbad Village. The mix of shops, restaurants, and businesses is perfect. There is plenty of parking and is very convenient if you are walking around the village or to the beach.

Comment: I like the Village Faire a lot for when I have friends or family visiting from out of town. There’s a lot to do and there are some cute shops located in the village that my friends and family like to go to, to purchase small mementos from their time here in San Diego.I also like the village faire because it is fairly close for me personally in terms of travel time.There are multiple options for bar and food serving businesses. You have Coyote Bar & Grill, Sushi Yama, The Compass, etc.Vinaka is a great cafe that definitely seems to attract a lot of people. It’s popular for college kids to come in and get coffee while studying and having small study groups.There are entertainment options down on the ground floor near the fountain. They have a “life” size chess set that you can play with. There’s turf in the area surrounding the fountain which is good for the kids that play around it.Parking options are a little complicated if you plan on spending a decent amount of time at the village faire. The best option for parking is the Coaster parking which does not have a time limit for how long you can park there for. Most of the parking spots designated as village faire parking usually have a three hour parking limit during peak business hours. There are a few one hour only parking spots.I like the village faire but there are some downsides for people who want to go out later in the evening. The coyote bar & grill does attract a pretty diverse range of people, a lot of military members come out here when they want to get away from Oceanside- which sometimes isn’t very great for others because they can get pretty rowdy and they usually travel in large groups.

Comment: Cute shops and restaurants. Parking is difficult but it just goes to show how popular this is. We go every year and manage to find parking. Its worth it.
