Comment: I stumbled across some great reviews for Andrea Lane via an internet search and maybe thats what brought you here today. After reading the reviews, I decided to try strength training one more time. Ive tried with multiple trainers in the past and it just didnt click. Ive been working with Andrea for 5 months now and the entire experience has been wonderful. The thing that I love the most is that no session is ever the same and I never get bored. When we first met, we talked about my goals (strength and flexibility as I age) and we started out at a level that was manageable and progressed steadily from there. I never get discouraged and Im always proud of myself when I complete a workout with Andrea as I can clearly see how much stronger and more flexible Im getting. If you want someone who can help you achieve your fitness goals, I highly recommend Andrea.

Comment: My (now) husband and I were gearing up for our wedding with certain fitness goals. After doing some research, we connected with Andrea and have never looked back.We started off aligning on goals for BMI, strength, physique, nutrition (which I reached ahead of my wedding date thanks to Andrea!). Each training session was custom according to my and my husbands needs and mobility (per the FMS method). As we progressed Andrea tweaked the sessions accordingly, which kept workouts interesting and at the right level of difficulty.Andrea taught us tons about long-term health, nutrition and fitness that I am using in my day-to-day. Turning these habits into a new lifestyle has been the best takeaway from this experience.It was always a dream of mine to work with a personal trainer. Comment: Andrea is truly a holistic trainer. My goal was to put on muscle/weight and to generally become stronger as I get older and Andrea has been helping me achieve my goals over the last 1.5 years by focusing not only on my workouts but also on my eating habits, sleeping routine and general stress management tactics. She always listens to my concerns and goals and changes up my workout depending on how my body is reacting on a certain day in order to ensure that I’m not overextending myself in a harmful way. She’s really made me feel great about my body and pushes me to try new things each week. Comment: I cannot stress this enough.Andrea changed my life.In an effort to keep this review from turning into a full-blown novel, I will simply say that after gaining a total of 65 pounds over the course of my pregnancy and lockdown, being on bed rest with a wound vac after 4 abdominal surgeries in the span of two weeks, and being diagnosed with diastasis recti and muscular atrophy, I had the balance, posture, and strength of an infant for well over two years. I couldn’t go up the stairs without holding onto the rails and walls with both hands, I couldn’t stand up straight for more than a minute at a time, and I certainly couldn’t do even the bare minimum when it came to body weight exercises.I’ve worked with Andrea previously in 2021 through Zoom, and she helped me become a little stronger and more functional at home. Working with her in person though, from September to mid-December this year, was an absolute game changer.First and foremost, she is knowledgeable and professional. She is the only trainer I’ve ever worked with who took my safety and comfort into consideration with every single movement, every little lift of my shoulder or twist of my waist. She is kind and compassionate. Despite my size and my struggles, I never felt judged, rushed, or pressured to push further than what was safe.I don’t know how much weight I lost, to be honest. I decided the number on the scale doesn’t matter to me anymore. All I know is I went from being an XXL to a large (sometimes a medium!), and I can do things that were physically impossible for me for years, like pushups, planks, leg lifts, squats, and everything in between. I went from using both hands to slowly wobble up the stairs while heavily breathing, to sprinting multiple flights of stairs, two steps at a time, without so much as a puff of air.I went into this with the intention of becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident in my body, and I got exactly what I wanted, and so much more.I strongly recommend Andrea to anyone looking to build their strength, balance, stamina, and flexibility, but please; if you’re a woman recovering from any postpartum complications, once you get the green light from your doctor, give Andrea a call. Comment: I chose to train with Andrea to prepare for my wedding. I lost 25 lbs in 4 months with her help. Ive had two trainers in the past and she by far tops both of them. She is knowledgeable about health and fitness. What I love about her is that she creates sessions unique to the client and keeps it interesting by changing it up every 3 weeks, she corrects your form, but also steps aside so you can stay focused, and is so knowledgeable about nutrition too. She goes above and beyond to ensure her clients gets results. She includes nutrition calls as part of her service and is science based. She has an exceptional ability to design custom routines that correct imbalances in your athletic abilities and help you achieve peak overall performance. Her remote program is also an excellent fit for someone like me who requires flexibility but wants individually customized routines that help you progress and achieve your fitness goals.I initially consulted Andrea in 2020 as an injury had impeded my existing workout strategy and was causing me frustration. Comment: I contacted Andrea in June of 2020 to get in shape for my wedding. The company that makes my wedding dress makes the dress to my measurements. I wanted help losing quarantine weight and also maintaining that size once my final measurements were submitted. Since June Ive lost 20 pounds and I felt confident and happy with my body going into my final measurement date. Andrea created workout programs and diet plans specifically for me every month that were very easy to follow. 99% of the program was virtual because of the pandemic. I was able to do all the workouts from home after buying a few home gym items (resistance bands, exercise ball, Jungle Gym Straps) and she went over the new exercise program with me every month over Zoom. She was able to work around any injuries (ankle/knee pain are my issues) and never made me feel guilty if life happened and I missed a workout. She really incorporates lifestyle changes like consistent bedtimes, sugar intake, and portion control so that these changes can be lasting. She asks about your mental health too since stress can take a toll on you physically. If youre ready to stick to a program and put in the work, give her a call.

Comment: Andrea is amazing! I had a lot of old injuries including multiple knee surgeries, nerve damage, carpel tunnel and two ruptured discs in my back. I was very deconditioned, overweight and nervous about exercising let alone weight training. She took each one of my issues and adapted exercises and stretches to strengthen my base muscles. This increased my stability and strength helping to correct years of damage. I went from literally not being able to do an exercise to being able to do multiple reps with added weight. I also had a less than healthy relationship with food. Andrea gave me a plan with lists of foods to eat and portion examples. Throughout my training she gave me feedback and specific instructions to achieve my goals. Andrea was always encouraging me, and she continually broke through my perceived roadblocks.She is smart, strong and kind. Truly the perfect trainer. I originally contacted Andrea after a few years of falling off the fitness wagon and needing to regain strength and overall fitness. Our daughter has never had a fitness routine and along with her challenging genes, is in a precarious position with her health at a young age. I knew I had to do something to reverse the unhealthy course in our family.As our fitness trainer, Andrea has focused on our strength, mobility, flexibility and balance, all of which were challenges for both my daughter and myself. I have always been active and strong as a runner, gym rat and snowboarder but over the years I kept gaining weight no matter what type of new class I would join or how much I exercised. I needed to find a fitness trainer to help me change my lifestyle in order to feel good about my body and be able to lose weight. I found Andrea Lane in searching for personal trainers in Carlsbad and right away I knew she would be helping me with more than just exercising and losing weight. Andrea encouraged me to make healthier lifestyle choices while working a program that fit with my work schedule. We started working on building strength in the places where my body lacked foundation. By following her nutritional coaching I learned healthier eating and meal planning habits. By following her strength training I began to feel stronger, more balanced and my posture improved. In just a couple months I saw improvement in my weight and measurements. The training facility Andrea uses is in great condition, offers a variety of new equipment and is clean and spacious. A few months after I started training with Andrea I found out I was pregnant but I decided to continue training with her and I am still training with her in my sixth month of pregnancy. Comment: I came across Andreas personal training website at a pretty critical point in my life. After a Drs visit, lab results showed High Cholesterol, Obesity and borderline Pre-Diabetes. Past work experience in the hospital and family history told me exactly how this story would play out if I didnt make some drastic changes in my life. That past year I had visited a nutritionist without seeing any results. I had also started exercising on my own, but due to inactivity experienced injuries setting me back further.Enter Andrea.To call her a triple threat - personal trainer, nutrition coach and motivational coach - would be accurate, yet youd only be scratching the surface. From the beginning she broke down monthly goals into attainable tasks involving fitness, nutrition, flexibility, education and personal motivation. Some months have been more successful than others, but reviewing what did and didnt work at the end of each month helped build goals for the next month. As a personal trainer and nutritional coach she curates a plan specifically for your body type, health and overall goals. Shes never let up on me. Comment: I was referred to Andrea Lane by a younger and very fit woman who has been working with Andrea as her fitness trainer for several years. She described the grueling workouts that Andrea developed for her, so it was with trepidation that I first met with Andrea to describe my fitness goals and to begin the baseline assessment. I am certainly not capable of doing what I used to do 20-30 years ago.I quickly learned that Andrea has the patience, knowledge and skills to work with individuals of all ages and fitness levels. I am very appreciative of Andreas effectiveness with my limited abilities. Andrea is never judgmental about my limitations. I also like that she pushes me to try exercises that challenge me enough to keep me progressing and improving my overall fitness.Andrea has now been my personal trainer for about six months. I have been very impressed with her depth of knowledge. Before hiring her as a personal trainer, I was always nervous about going into the weight room at my gym because I didnt know what I was doing or what exercises would best fit my needs. Comment: Andrea is the best personal trainer and nutrition coach in San Diego. Probably on the planet.I have been overweight since childhood and on the weight loss rollercoaster for about 9 years. Each time that I resolved to lose the weight, I would diet and exercise, the pounds would start shedding off, and I’d feel great... until I hit a brick wall. I’d hover around 210 lbs for weeks. I’d lose a pound here, gain two pounds there, and my appetite would get harder and harder to manage the more I’d try to get back on track. Eventually I’d give up and the pounds would return in force.This cycle repeated itself several times until I decided I needed help. I count myself incredibly lucky to find Andrea.Andrea crafted my training and food intake to fit my schedule and my lifestyle. She weaned me off of the bad food I was eating and gave me the knowledge I would need to eat properly. Just as importantly, she guided me in that process so that I changed my eating habits in a way so that I could stick to the new habits. I no longer feel the intense cravings for sweets and junk foods that I once had.She also found my physical limits right away, and then helped me push past them. For example when I first started training with Andrea, I struggled to complete a 5 mile hike around the perimeter of Lake Miramar. Today I can jog around that perimeter without stopping.If you want to lose weight, Andrea is the way to go. I know this because she has helped me to do what I was starting to believe was impossible. Comment: Andrea is incredible! I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone in the San Diego area searching for a nutrition coach and or personal trainer. I came to Andrea as someone who had been working out and dieting on their own for two years and simply not seeing the results I desired in regards to performance and or physical development. However in only four months of working with Andrea as my nutrition and exercise coach I have seen three times the results then the cumulative changes I saw in my body and performance from the two years prior. My body fat percentage has dropped (which has been a long time goal and was something I struggled to achieve on my own,) I’ve shredded a few inches, and I’ve gained muscle/strength in very practical ways. My performance has overall enhanced. I find myself able to do things now I never thought I could – like hold a crow pose in yoga class and do a few pull ups without assistance! But the reason I have and will continue to suggest Andrea to friends and family is the time I save by working with her. Andrea creates intelligent exercise programs that are fun to do and that fit around your life. My time in the gym before working with Andrea use to run two hours or more 5 days a week, now I am there for only one hour, three days a week and am seeing FAR better results. This is because she creates routines that are put together wisely and efficiently and that allow for proper recovery. Furthermore Andrea is the real deal when it comes to a thorough knowledge of the human body and its physical/nutritional needs. In so the work you do with her won’t just help you look better, but also feel and move better. Mobility, flexibility, joint health, and other less esthetically driven parts of maintaining a healthy body over the span of your life are often overlooked by other personal trainers. Andrea however is holistic in her approach and has helped me meet esthetic goals without risking the long term health and function of my body. Comment: Ive gotta say - Ive never had a personal trainer before and when I first signed up for sessions with Andrea I was not sure what to expect. I didnt know if Id feel overwhelmed or if Id even have the confidence to do any of the exercises because all of this was new to me.I went in complaining of a sore lower back and chronic IT Band Syndrome both of which seemed to make certain exercises very difficult or some, flat out impossible.Andrea was nothing short of amazing! She knew exactly what things to do to strengthen my core to help support my low back. She understood what IT Band Syndrome was and helped me work around or modify certain exercises which would cause it to flare up.She taught me a series of stretches to do in order to target areas where I was tight.Andrea has been my fitness coach for over 2 years now and she is phenomenal. Not only is she a great coach in the gym but she motivates me to exercise and evaluate my nutritional needs when Im on my own. I have never felt better or more balanced in my body!I think that the thing I like the most about Andrea is her knowledge and her attitude. I feel 100% comfortable performing any exercise with her because I trust in her years of experience. I love her attitude because she has the right blend of fun personality while still being tough! Shes dedicated to her job and to you... as each workout is individualized, each session is different, and she takes a stepwise approach in your progression.As a healthcare provider in sports medicine and orthopedics, I am very particular about proper biomechanics and injury prevention. Good news...Andrea is also very particular and precise! She breaks down each exercise, showing you how to work through it correctly and safely. She is a stickler for proper technique, posture and form so that you can maximize the benefit of each rep, set, etc. She pushes you beyond what you perceive as your limits, but not to the point of suffering.If you are looking for a personal trainer who is a rah-rah cheerleader to get you through, look elsewhere. Comment: I have been working with Andrea for over half a year now, and I am truly enjoying her fitness training services. I came to her a pretty seasoned long-distance endurance athlete, but wanted to work on my strength, speed, and flexibility. She has definitely delivered. Every three weeks, she write me a new set of dynamic flexibility, strength training, and sprint workouts. They work my entire body in a doable amount of time, and I have seen great results. I have gained flexibility, become a faster runner, built lean muscle, and significantly decreased my body fat. Comment: I started working with Andrea in San Diego 3 months after having my second child (my first C-Section). I have always been athletic/active, but after several months of off-and-on back pain I realized I needed to be smart about getting my active lifestyle back, especially working carefully on core strength lost because of the C-Section. Andrea did a thorough analysis of my body/diet and designed a foundational workout program that I could do on my own. I continued to meet with her for an assessment every month and she would switch up my program to make it more challenging as I got stronger. She always did a great job of assessing when I needed to continue where I was and when I needed to push myself. The results have been fabulous. In 5 months I lost 8% body fat and 14 lbs, I am at my goal weight, and continue to progress and have fun!!! I used to run for hours, but these short/smart workouts have been way more effective, and really fit well with my busy working mom life. The other day I went rock climbing for the first time in years and was amazed at how strong I was! Comment: Andrea is a wonderful personal trainer! Before I met her, I had no experience with weight training and had been afraid to try out the machines in the gym. At our first meeting, Andrea performed an assessment test to determine my fitness level, strengths, and weaknesses and created a customized training program. Although I had run endurance races in the past (marathon, triathlon, and a number of half-marathons), there were a number of issues with my strength, balance, and flexibility. In the 6+ months that I have trained with Andrea, I have seen a noticeable improvement in these problem areas. It has been exciting to see my weekly progress and I can definitely feel an overall difference. In addition to strength training, Andrea has also been able to customize my training schedule for specific short-term goals. For example, she helped me train and complete the San Diego Tough Mudder race (10+ mile obstacle course). Andrea looked through the obstacle list and assigned relevant exercises and adjusted them to my fitness level.I recommend Andrea as a fitness trainer and encourage others to invest in their health and fitness.

Comment: I sought out a personal trainer/fitness trainer in San Diego 3 months ago and stumbled upon Andrea King on the Web . I was riddled with running injuries and afraid if I didnt start to cross train and build strength, I would not be able to continue to run. Andrea was very methodical in her initial evaluation and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted to accomplish. For me, it was simple, I needed to build up strength in areas where I was injury prone so I could continue to follow my passion for running. After going twice a week for 3 months, Im happy to report that I am injury free and have built a great base of strength (my husband says my legs look great too!). Andrea kept me on track and never varied from my goal of strength training. She encouraged me to work hard but was intuitive when she saw I reached my limit. She taught me a lot of exercises I can do while on business trips and helped me to understand more about the physiology of running and what muscles are most impacted. Andrea is personable and knowledgeable about fitness and I would highly recommend her to anyone, male or female. Thanks for getting me on the right track Andrea!

Comment: Im scared to know of the shape I would or more importantly wouldnt be in without Andreas help! She is so knowledgeable and an excellent training. Im so impressed with the personalization of my fitness plan. Just when I think I cant push myself any harder, Andrea changes things up and finds new limits. Im never bored during workouts and Im stronger than Ive ever been. Best personal trainer in town!

Comment: I had a great experience working with Andrea. I came to her at 5 months postpartum and was weak after having a very sedentary pregnancy and gaining 30+ pounds. Andrea customized workouts and a diet plan that was easy to adapt to my life. I not only am at my pre-pregnancy weight but am continuing to lose weight with the dietary knowledge/workout techniques she has instilled in me. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone trying to build strength and have a healthier life!
