Comment: Know before you go. If you want to bring your kids to climb kids walls you must pay for “Sender City” ($$$ hourly admission) and then you must pay a separate fee if you want to climb anywhere else in the gym. Ridiculous.

Comment: I’d like to address the comments below about Sender One being antisemitic because an employee was wearing a keffiyeh, which is a traditional headdress from the Middle East. There is nothing antisemitic about a piece of traditional clothing, and I am disappointed by people in the climbing community being more offended by a scarf than by Islamophobia and violence against Palestinians.Personally, I love seeing people at Sender One wearing keffiyehs because it shows me that people in the climbing community are aware of issues that affect marginalized climbers! I love the solidarity it represents, and related, I love the Sender One affinity nights that create safe community spaces for people from different backgrounds. It’s unfortunate that some people are offended by attire from other cultures, whose meaning has become subverted. I assure you the people wearing the keffiyehs did not mean any harm to Jewish climbers! They just want to express their solidarity with a community experiencing violence, and there should not be anything wrong with that. What happened to freedom of expression?

Comment: Absolutely appalling experience. Despite being loyal customers for nearly two years, the blatant display of anti-Semitism at Sender One Santa Ana has left us feeling unwelcome and deeply uncomfortable. Since the Middle East conflict erupted, one of the workers has been wearing a scarf that promotes anti-Semitic views, creating an atmosphere of fear and exclusion for Jewish patrons like us. We raised our concerns with the manager, expressing our distress and disappointment, yet nothing has been done. The fact that this worker continues to wear the offensive scarf speaks volumes about the companys tolerance of hate speech and discrimination. We will not be returning, and we urge others to reconsider supporting a business that condones such behavior.

Comment: Extremely disappointed with Sender One Santa Ana. As regular climbers, we expect a safe and welcoming environment to enjoy our time. However, the recent sighting of a worker wearing offensive attire promoting hate and terror is beyond unacceptable. Not only does it ruin the experience for everyone, but its also deeply saddening, especially for the Jewish community. As a Christian who believes in spreading love and acceptance, seeing such behavior from a staff member is distressing. Management needs to take immediate action to ensure that hate has no place in their establishment.

Comment: My kids had a really fun time at Sender City. The Staff was very positive, helpful, and encouraging, which is great if your kids are a little tentative. The activities were challenging enough to make it fun for adults to participate with the kids. The auto belays allows you to quickly go from course to course, so my kids were pretty tired at the end of the hour. The one day pass is a little pricy but they have a five day pass that was more affordable.

Comment: For sure this was a top 10 funnest places we’ve ever been. My kids (age 10 & 11) both wish we had found out about this sooner. You won’t believe your eyes when you see the walls they have. The kids and parents were going nuts. Way better than the usual “trampoline gym”. Staff was amazing from the initial phone call, to the front desk, to the quick tour guide before we paid, to the people that set us up and helped us on the walls.

Comment: A good climbing gym if you like top rope. The price is more expensive than Hangar but it seems to be the only top rope gym in OC so you will just have to bear with it. I did the 5 punch for $70 a pretty good deal. I liked the intro belay class but the problem is you will have to find a belay partner after that. I couldnt find anyone so I ended up doing bouldering for the rest of my 5 punch. The bouldering area doesnt have a lot of jugs. There are a lot of children running all around in the area so be careful when you drop. The route setting is not as good compared to Hangar. Overall, if you do top rope in OC this is good enough. For bouldering I recommend somewhere else.

Comment: Please give Ryan M a raise! I came with my Dad today to be his belay partner for his lead climbing test, and Ryan was great! Incredibly knowledgeable, super professional, letting us know exactly what he was looking for so that we can stay as safe as possible and pass the test. Unrelated to the test specifically, he also gave some great recommendations for rope management, and other resources related to climbing in general. What I really appreciated is how calm and knowledgeable he was. Testing can be very hard on the nerves, and folks like Ryan help to get you as comfortable as possible while still ensuring all requirements are met so that folks are safe. Thank you Ryan!

Comment: Adrenaline junkie? Want to to feel high? Well youre going to have to earn it. Youve got the vast bouldering walls, the top line rock climbing, and lead climbing routes here. We signed up the night before for the intro course at Sender One. Dont forget to sign your waivers for your life! We took the intro to climbing class with Khoi our instructor. He was great at teaching us the ropes. We got taught the knots, the gri gri mechanism, and the appropriate climbing vernacular. I felt knowledgeable enough to go out into the top lines with the wife and belay and climb safely. I would recommend sender one for any new climbers who are taking the intro course and the experienced so you can experience what sender one and its walls has to offer!Lets go!!

Comment: The overall experience could have been better. I felt like the facility was crowded, and we had to wait a while for certain climbs. The slide in sender city is only open for twenty minutes, none of my kids were able to get on...so that was disappointing. The helmets smell terrible, like they are full of germs. I do see that they spray lysol on them, but it clearly isn’t enough. I dont know, I really wanted to enjoy the experience and for $30 per person for an hour, I dont feel that I got my money’s worth.

Comment: Great rock climb place! Really enjoyed the routes, nice designs. The only thing is there was this one time I was belaying my friend (he’s still climbing and up in the sky) and this staff lady come distracting me telling me my PBUS is not right and this is my last warning or she’ll take away my belay certificate. I was like this is insane she’s literally the bigger hazard here distracting an ongoing belay. But still, doesn’t change the fact that it’s a great gym with lots of fun.

Comment: Sender One is a great place for beginners & experts. My 14 year old daughter and I took the belay class to become certified to climb together. It was such a fun time over the summer to hang out, get GREAT exercise, and change ourselves. The vibe and atmosphere are so welcoming and open to all. Sender City, the kids side, is great for younger ones in a colorful, fun atmosphere. But when we wanted to climb with my 8 year old also, she came to the adult side and could climb there as well!

It took me over a month to get a simple refund when they overcharged me.It took me ~4 portal submissions, 4 calls and several emails for a simple billing issue which was their error in the first place.

Comment: I and my first experience there recently. The staff was prompt, professional and kind. My daughter had sole fears and apprehension and Adithi spebt time calminf her. Also other staff members were great. There was a guy with long hair ( sorry I forgot his name) that did breathing exercises to help a kid gain confidence and jump down from one of the climbs. I was really impressed with the kid friendliness of the staff.I just wish it was cooler in there as it was quite warm in the climb room. I am not sure if the ac was down or if it was because of the number of climbers.Over all very clean place and enjoyable experience.

Comment: I visited Sender One to boulder while visiting Orange County. It’s an ok gym, I would be reluctant to get a membership here but great for a visit!Pros:— definitely catered to kids/new climbers. The kid area was really cute— Decently sized gym, variety of climbsHere’s some feedback I have:— They were renovating the bathrooms and had two all-gender restrooms open. They were kinda dirty, didn’t feel super clean. There was pools of water on the bathroom floor which felt kinda bad haha— The mats are kinda hard compared to other gyms. They don’t have much bounce and I didn’t feel comfortable climbing to the top of walls and falling from that height. My friend was saying that the actual padding thickness seemed thinner than his gym too. I’m used to sinking into a mat as I walk — def felt more stiff than that!— It’s extremely hot. I wish they had more fans. I’ve never felt hot climbing at other gyms but was legit sweating through my pants!! They had some small fans around the space but they were turned off.— I wish they specified two hand start vs one hand start.— I wish they put their climbs on KAYA so I can track >:)

She will most likely be getting her own membership sometime soon. I’ll also say that the staff have been nothing but friendly and respectful. They do an awesome job of keeping the place clean and in order, which I appreciate!Great climbing gym, lots of fun walls. Decided to get a January $0 initiation fee membership. I see some people leaving bad reviews, but their covid protocols are exactly why Im switching to sender from my current gym.

Comment: Its pretty huge. The kids section is super cute. Theres a moonboard, campus board, weight training, other training equipment, etc. so youre gonna get pretty much everything. They have a huge wall for top rope and lead but I mostly bouldered when I went there so I cant comment on that. The setting is okay but I wish that some of the easier routes could be more interesting. I enjoyed climbing inside the bridge a lot. Also wish that there were more lights because sometimes it was a bit dark in some parts of the walls and I couldnt see very well. Overall pretty expensive so Id say its a great place to boulder for the day but I cant say I want to get a membership here just because of the price and that I simply enjoy a more intimate environment.

Comment: Im a climber of 7? years and a reluctant member of this gym... Its got tall walls, routes are set pretty frequently, theres a few cracks, and theres classes, fitness center, and training tools (campus board, hangboards, 2 moonboards and a kilter board). But its clear that this gym prioritizes attracting new climbers over pushing existing climbers to get better. How so?1) The grades are soft, the setting is boring especially on ropes. Yes, gyms are softer than outside, but Senders grades are a whole number grade (maybe more) softer than other gyms. Even the cone, until you get to like... 11c/d, its just a jug haul, albeit a steep one.2) During peak Covid restrictions, members were restricted to one single 2-hour session a day, and long before members were allowed to climb for longer (2 hours is not enough!!!), non-members and new people (aka the $$$-makers) were returning to the gym. Meanwhile, other gyms like PG prioritized letting members climb for longer sessions first. I feel like this was a clear signal showing who and what Sender prioritizes.3) Why are the training centers hours so restrictive? On top of that, if the kids (aka more $$$ for the gym) are training on the boards, then good luck getting any time on the boards during your reservations.4) Theyre always churning through classes and clinics (which is great)... but theyre misguided. Theres adult training club and a plethora of classes for improving movement and technique.... This takes us back to #1 - why not just set better climbs that teach new people something?5) Finally, a petty one... Why are you guys always promoting your new merch??? Yes youre a business, but youre not a clothing store. Youre a gym. That said, I do enjoy climbing here and always have a fun session. The staff is nice! The climbers are nice! The facilities are nice! I do also wish the other locations werent all the way in LA...

Comment: Their COVID mandates are irrational. Only vaccinated adults can enter even thought both vaccinated and unvaccinated can get and spread COVID but the vaccinated could not show symptoms and have milder symptoms (supposedly) while the unvaxxed will have more severe so in other words the ones who are protected and can still spread the virus while not showing symptoms and can spread it to little kids are fine to go in but the ones who will show symptoms aren’t. Also if we think you’re more vulnerable we will force you to be safe abd not allow you to come in against your will but if we believe you’re protected then you’re a good boy and can enjoy our faculty. It just makes no sense to me at all. I won’t be going there ever again

Comment: Had a great family visit at Sender One. Its nice that you dont have to be an expert to enjoy the visit. We brought our kids, one was celebrating a birthday. They really enjoyed it and parents are allowed to watch or if you pay for admission, join in the climbing. A one hour session is plenty if you dont climb regularly. It is a good exercise activity for the kids. They broke a sweat but still has a lot of fun. Adults must fasten safety ropes to all kids 13 and under. Having 3 kids, it was quite busy to attach and detach each child between climbs.

Comment: Sender one is amazing! Ive been a member here for about 4 years. The staff is amazing and takes effort to get to know members - creating a community rather than just a gym. The climbing is amazing, new routes are up weekly.Ive participated in many activities the gym puts on, such as bouldering league and meetups. They are great, the energy is amazing!I highly recommend a visit 😊

Comment: Great climbing gym for adults and Sender City is an awesome place for kids! The auto belays in the kids area make it really easy for kids to get climbing. Plus there is enough variety that in an hour most kids will feel challenged and not bored. Would be awesome to see some more difficult routes in the kids area to support kids as they are progressing. Sometimes the younger ones dont want to go into the adult area, plus at Sender City they could use the auto belays.

He thoroughly went over everything and made me feel so comfortable, safe and at ease. I had a great time and would definitely go back.

Comment: Been a member here for ~1.5 years, figured I would share my thoughts with anyone looking to become a member.Good: Lots of parking, VERY well maintained facility, high walls (by OC standards anyway), yoga classes are awesome, weight area is pretty much always empty, equipment is top notch.Bad: Children EVERYWHERE, routes setters are not very creative / changes pretty infrequently, you can only belay with a gri-gri (weird), no auto belays.Ugly: 90+ Dollar monthly fee + initiation fee + yearly price raises + NO guest passes (Really guys, not even one a month?) + pausing your membership is a pain (doctors note + you still have to pay like 10$/monthly to not climb LOL)Honestly its a great gym, but their pricing model is sooooo greedy, which is ultimately what drove me out. If price is no object then this is the gym for you.

Comment: The gym itself was clean and nice, with pretty tall rope climbing walls. They have a nice selection of holds and have soft grades. The route setting was okay but there were a few fun ones out there. They also have the 10 meter speed wall and the ending of the 15 meter speed wall alongside it which was great. Overall a good gym.

Comment: Pricey and one of the more unfriendly climbing communities. Least approachable top rope partners Ive ever ran into, and unfortunately no autobelays otherwise if you end up there by yourself. Climbs are long which is nice, the 4 or 5 cracks are great to have, but the routes are typically bland and overtly soft ratings. Theres usually at least one or two out of the box routes that are awesome though, so theres definitely at least one solid route setter there. Bouldering is not my thing, so, I have no comments there. Basically I would not recommend it if you dont have a dedicated partner for the day and youre not specifically training for endurance. Chris, I truly respect you, your gym has a long way to go however.

Comment: Friendly staff and people overall. I used a groupon last week for a one hr lesson. Me and my friend were lucky to get a coach to ourselves. She was awesome and helpful and patient. After the lesson we wanted to climb more and as we sat and waited for our turn on the beating section I noticed the instructors were so helpful towards climbers that werent part of a class or lesson. Customers were also friendly and courteous.Place also offers access to their gym, yoga classes, etc. Which is neat as well.I wish they just had a more adventurous bouldering section. 89 a month seems high too...

Comment: Best climbing ever accompanied by the worst management. These fools have harassed my friends and I for almost a year now with bogus late fees and false charges. Another thing that annoys everyone is the way they set routs. The routs are amazing but they will block off literally half of the bouldering area while they are only working on one rout!!! You really need half of the god damn gym just to test one rout?!?!? And if they arent setting routs that day, you can guarantee to see a gym full of mostly annoying children in huge group classes hogging the walls, cutting off your rout, running up and down the gym, or playing with chalk. The price for a membership is way too much for this BS. Its gotten so bad that my friends have begun pulling their memberships and I dont blame them. Ill do the same If things dont change in the near future. I hope for the best.

Comment: Just tried to go climb for the first time today, no complaints on the staff just for management. Ive been to a few climbing gyms before and everyone I have visited doesnt require you to tie your own Knotts. Im not complaining about that I actually kind of enjoy it and I see it reduces your liability but you need to offer some sort of class after intro class hours end. I arrived at 8:30 which was too late to get into an intro class and I had already payed and been set up(was fully refunded btw thank you) but the problem was my sister and I enjoy top rope and we have always used carabiners. So instead of offering to certify me I basically just get turned away after planning my night around this. The solution I request so it doesnt happen to someone else is to offer a short cert. Id have payed $10 to get a certification and a short 15 minute course to tie Knotts to your spec. They dont seem too difficult and Im sure it doesnt take up much of the intro course hour that you normally require. I will sign up and come back, but it would be nice to be able to have that as an option for those of us used to other gyms. Luckily, my neighbor happens to be a rock climbing expert and is going to show me how to tie anything I was required to know without paying for your into course.

Comment: Iam wrting to necessite the urgent need to change the gym bouldering flooring materials. On the 22nd day of December 2017 I had an unfortunate accident while i was bouldering in Sender one gym. I fell down from a small distant on the floor ( which was surprisingly SO HARD) and devoloped a comminuted (multiple fragmented) fracture in multiple bones namely the tibia, medial malleolus and fibula in the right leg. I am a healthy 26 year old female who has normal bones (not affected by any metabolic disease). They had to perform an urgent surgery that cost tons of money, inserting a long plate almost the length of my leg by making 5 surgical scars to fixate the plate with 12 screws.I was hospitalized for days without the ability to move took a lot of pain medication. Doctors had to change my pain medication several times due to the unresponsiveness.I came as a visitor to conducat certain interview in some University. This incident made me to cancel my flights in order to avoid further complication such as Deep Venous Thrombosis or excruciating leg pain. It cost me alot financially, emotionally, psychologicaly and most importantly my career. The flooring materials MUST be changed . Because SIMPLY nobody deserves to SUFFER like me. From such a HARD flooring materials fractures of the Skull or spinal column may cause perminant disabilities or even DEATH.It should be noted that I was bouldering and falling in several gyms nothing major happened to me, but unfortunately from the first fall in this gym this devestating injury occured.Having no family or friends in here my Sister had to fly from England to take care of me. Because Iam unable to bare weight on my injured leg for 3 months.Injuries like that can happen to anyone please be careful on yourselves and beloved ones. They toss you out of their gym once you are injured regardless how sever it is with or without an ambulance. As if you are a broken tool or equipment . Simply cause you signed their waivers.

Comment: It was fun. We visited the kids side of sender city, which is $25 per person per hour. You have to make reservations, which we didnt know, so we ended up having to wait 2 hours in the parking lot because we drove around 1.5 hours to get there. The kids section is actually fairly small. Its really tall, but there are only about ten different walls. One alphabet wall, a ladder wall, spinning rock wall, a black light tower, a tower that you climb a ladder and jump off of a plaform, some blocks, an ascending set of tall blocks... I dont think you could spend more than an hour here anyway. Its fun themed, so I think best for kids 11 and under. Its hard to tell how big it is from the pictures... so the actual square footage and amount of exhibits was a little disappointing, but the walls were very tall. Also a lot of the pics on the website could be from either the Inglewood location or the Santa Ana location... so youre not going to get everything in the pictures. The adult area looks a lot more fun, to me as an adult. But it is more expensive.

Comment: Sender is the best gym in the area without question. If youre just getting in to climbing, this place will quickly become an addiction. If youre already an experienced climber, youll recognize the height and diversity of the walls as a step above. But most importantly, if you come often, youll appreciate the frequent and high quality route setting that always keeps it fresh. You should go.

Comment: Best climb gym in the area and its not even close. Some people complain of the pricing, but you get what you pay for. You can get from point A to point B in a Nissan Sentra or you can pay for more features and travel in a Tesla. Sender One is the Tesla of climb gyms in OC. It has the best walls, largest square footage, and best kids area. Yoga and fitness center access is included. If youre happy climbing on smaller walls with less diverse routes/problems, there are cheaper alternatives in OC. Id rather pay a couple extra $ to get the most out of my time at a climb gym. Also, if you google the best climb gyms in the country, Sender One is the only gym in California that consistently makes the top list of every national blog/publication. I wish theyd build a Sender One in the Phoenix area where I live. There are tons of empty big boxes from bankrupt retailers like Sport Authority, Circuit City, etc. Just sayin.

Comment: It was my first time climbing at Sender one and as a novice climber I was pleasantly surprised at the sheer size of this indoor climbing gym. Having climbed at local gyms such as Rock City and the CSUF rock wall I couldnt wait to start top roping on their nearly three story high wall. Amazing experience. The walls are designed excellently, each hold has its purpose. They update the routes frequently as well, with the oldest route I saw dating back to December of 2016. The only drawback would be the $29 fee ($22 for an adult day pass, $7 for shoes & harness). After climbing my fill I joined some friends for an hour long yoga class (mine started at 8:30 p.m.). The instructor led us through a series of stretches and by the end of the class I felt rejuvenated and ready to end my trip to Sender One.Ill definitely return.

Comment: I am rating Sender City (Funtopia) specifically. I brought my kids here last weekend and was appalled at the lack of safety procedures and staff training/awareness. We did not go to Sender One (the climbing gym side).I am a climber and my 5 year old son is just getting into the sport. We brought his harness, and I asked the staff if it would be ok to use it, instead of the house harnesses. A staff member said that would be fine. At Funtopia, a staff member clips your child into the rope (auto-belay) with a big locking carabiner. Most of the house harnesses have a metal ring to clip into. My sons harness is a slightly different design and does not have the ring. I watched as a staff member fiddled with his harness and instead of clipping him in, decided to add an extra carabiner to make things quicker and easier. She returned with a non-locking carabiner and clipped that to his harness, and then to the rope. Climbing safety 101: that is a major no-no. I had to stop him from climbing and fix the connection so that it was appropriately safe. Someone who isnt familiar with climbing equipment might have gone blissfully unaware of this unnecessary risk. The odds of a non-locking carabiner opening up are slim. But it can and does happen. Its possible that this particular employee made an error, but based on my interaction with the two different staff members I spoke to, there was a general lack of awareness of what was going on, or the problem that I was addressing. These were mostly young adults (20-somethings) that appeared to be running a carnival type atmosphere. Which is all fun and fine, until someone makes a mistake and your kid falls 30 feet to the ground and breaks his back. Most climbing gyms take this sort of thing very seriously - I got the feeling that the Funtopia side of things is run very different than a climbing gym. Which would be fine, except that theyve got kids in harness and auto-belays climbing 30-40 foot high. So, it is a climbing gym. This place is catering to kids parties and with all the children running around, it is a chaotic environment. I am sure its difficult to make sure that safety procedures are being followed in every corner of the facility. Considering the height of the walls, I dont think there is any excuse for mistakes, though. They need better screening and/or training back there.

Comment: Amazing gym with plenty of routes to try out.The place was quite packed on a Wednesday night at 8pm, when we arrived. If youre not self conscious about other people being around while youre climbing its fine (I know I used to feel sized up against other climbers and would get nervous :p).

Comment: Sender one has great thought-out routes for all climbers. The place is clean and also has a belaying and lead climbing section as well as a fun section for kids. Only thing is that a day pass is roughly $22 to $30 whether you have shoes or not.

Comment: Its getting hot in here so.... I forgot the rest of the classic Nelly song. My first thought upon entering the Yoga studio was get ready to melt and sweat likes an ice cream cone. Hmm that does sound good. But seriously it was hot! Imagine doing yoga poses on the surface of the sun or Jessica Alba in Deep Blue. Yes! That hot.Yoga event! A week ago we treated our bodies to yummy Vegan food and now we get a complete spiritual and body experience of Hot Yoga. I have a long ways to go to become a master like Ryan! But Im up for the challenge.GYMThe Sender One facility looks like an awesome place to train. I want to get a full tour next time I go. Im glad there is a local rock climbing gym so close by. Also, it has yoga and a weight room. Sounds perfect.STAFFI feel so inspired after talking to various staff members. They were very friendly and caring. I didnt get the pushy salesman feeling that most gyms have.YOGAI didnt know this was a hot yoga class. So it was a good thing I was fully hydrated and grabbed a bottle of water. I notice some other people didnt drink any water during the class. That is hardcore. Hot yoga takes a lot of concentration. I had to really focus on breathing as everything got hot and heavy. No pun intended. Giggity. A friend of mine explained why its so hard to breath in hot yoga. The heat of the room plus everyone breath has moisture causing the humidity level to raise in the room with no ventilation. I thought I was going to start having visions. The cold shower after class was a great feeling. I left like I was able to wash away toxins and worries. I felt like a brand new person and left was a positive outlook.ConsThe only thing I didnt like was the meathead and his trainer talking loudly and banging weights right near the Yoga studio door. This really broke my concentration as the class was winding down.I am in love with Yoga. I love the health benefits along with the great feeling you get once you have completed a yoga class. Its more relaxing than any massage or alcoholic beverage can be.

Comment: What I love - its very clean. The climbs are tall. The staff is friendly and helpful. What I dont love - the climbing ratings seem very off kilter. Even a 5.10 climb will have holds everwhere. No accuracy whatsoever to the ratings - every climb (5.10 and under) is literally a sea of holds. Almost no climbing skill whatsoever is needed to scramble up the ladder rated 5.10b. A ladder actually might be harder to climb. The setters should take some lessons from mesa rim in san diego. There, each climb has a twist, one tricky move, that makes the route interesting.

Comment: Ive always wanted to try rock climbing and I had the opportunity to with friends.I definitely feel so much more empowered learning to tie those knots (Staff member Cody made sure we did it over and over!)You will need a partner to do the pulley rope and to watch each others backs. There are multiple levels of difficulty but we mostly stuck with the beginner areas. It was interesting to see the bouldering section too as people rock climbed without any gear.Youll feel like Lara Croft in the harness!Remember to utilize the push-off strength of your legs instead of relying on your hands/arms as youll get tired very easily.

I like the music they play most of the time. The gym equipment is good quality too. Over all fun atmosphere. Only thing I wish they had were some auto belays.

Comment: Oh to be young and free. To climb and live life with abandon. Gone are those days for me and probably for most people when they come here they don’t feel nostalgia like I do. That’s because most didn’t climb every moment they could, work and sleep at a climbing gym and fully immerse themselves in the subculture that was the climbing community. A tendon injury forcibly removed me from it. Being years removed from that life has taught me many things, but my first thought was “wow”.The notables. It’s huge. Like 3 times the size of my old gym and taller. Top out boulder, hi tech walls, brand new holds, top notch setters, tons of staff, lessons on the hour. Expensive. Everyone is so young here. Still very bro-centric being in Orange County, it’s much less dirty bag climbing life. Hi tech logins, finger print scanning, it’s more than a climbing gym, they’ve got Yoga, showers, etc. My climbing journey started in my early 20’s where I went from bouldering to setting, to sport climbing to trad, rescue and onto free soloing. It was about the outdoor experience. Now people use the gym to stay strong for outside, not as a fall back to when they could not get outside. I’ve seen and done it all. The old saying “gym make you strong like bull, dumb like wall”. Climbing colored and taped holds is one thing, but much less pure than climbing outside. Some cons are the ergo of it, doesn’t flow, no traverse, no non climbing specific workout machines, way too much spray, like from everyone. Where I come from and from when I come from you climb, spray your beta somewhere else members because I may not have the strength and endurance I use to, but my technique is still above average and I still think like a climber, not a gym boulderer. It’s poor form. There is a social aspect in the gym you can’t get away from, but if I’m climbing 2’s in the corner with my headphones on, don’t bother me. Kids these days don’t learn the etiquette of real climbing when they stay in their gym. Top ropes use gri gri’s, both those and lead require separate certs, though I saw some pretty questionable technique from certified members and instructors teaching. Strong ties to local soler Evolv which is great. If your looking to get into climbing, come here because it’s new, hi tech, modern and legit. If your looking to get into rock climbing you may needlessly be wasting quite a bit of money by getting your membership here.

Comment: Awesome Grand Opening event they had here ! =)This place is just awesome! Its HUGE inside, so many options to choose from. There are beginning to advance options & also bouldering here too. =)It was so packed today but they did a great job of managing the crowds here. They even have couches to relax & sit on when youre exhausted from all the climbing that youve done. The walls are sprayed with a special coating so it makes it harder to slip & fall. The walls are also very nicely designed & decorated; there are plenty of fun shapes & all different levels of difficulty to try.The walls were all color coordinated & everything is labeled making it easy to know which is easy/ hard to climb. The restrooms & locker rooms are nice. They also offer yoga & fitness classes here too. =)

Comment: Best all-around climbing gym in the area! I cant speak for other gyms in CA, or in the US for that matter, but SenderOne is a great climbing gym. For one, they offer bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing. They have a state-of-the-art facility. Short walls, higher walls, and even a competition wall. The variety they offer here is astounding. Not to mention that they have training grip boards, yoga classes, a gym with weights/machines, some cardio equipment and a Funtopia for the kids to have fun in.For the price of membership and the amount of climbing you can do, this is absolutely worth it, and it is located in a great central location in the OC. Even the day passes are fairly priced to try this place out. Rental packages are $6 and you can even get a punch card for 10 visits for $170.As for the people/crowd here, there is a chill vibe and the people here are very friendly! Always a treat when I go here.

Comment: I didnt feel it was right writing a review until I had a good understanding of this gym and competing gyms so time was needed. Now that Ive been to roughly 15 different gyms across the county and been coming here for the last few months I feel now is the time that a fair assessment may be made.Awesome. Simple as that. Yes the gym is always clean and the price is down right cheap for everything they offer. Thats not what makes this gym awesome. Its the people, staff, and the culture at the gym. The constant route changes, clean gym, nice people, etc. makes coming here an enjoyable experience. Who am I to make you decide to check this place out? Go find out for yourself. Youll see why everyone who comes here ends up signing up as members for a long time.

Comment: Simply put, this gym rocks! The quality of thegym speaks for itself; huge walls, yoga, fitness, and a super friendly and helpful staff. The fact that the fitness and yoga are included in my membership allowed me to cancel my LA fitness pass (and save me $50 a month... which was cool). The walls themselves have an amazing texture coat, you can smear anywhere you want. Also, there are 5 cracks throughout they gym, theyre splitters and theyre AWESOME. The arch is amazing and the lead wall is unreal.Ill be coming to this gym several times a week.
