Comment: I started ballet at 38. I’m hypermobile and in my first years dancing, teachers praised my “good feet” and turnout, but rarely gave constructive feedback about my lack of basic coordination. It was super confusing, and I progressed slowly. When I connected with Allie, I was feeling stuck, and I would get timid and embarrassed whenever I took class.More than two years later, I still train with Allie weekly. My coordination has improved significantly and so has my confidence in class. Also, I can better manage chronic neck and hip pain using tools Allie taught me. Not least of all, I know how to train my bendy body better (less stretching! more strengthening!). Working with Allie is a true investment in my health and mindset.

Comment: Ive tried several PrePointe programs with other teachers, but there are a few key things that make the Align Fitness plan different. When you finish one of Allies videos, you wont have any questions about proper technique, because she gives a crystal clear explanation every time. Its not just about knowing what to do, its also about knowing what NOT to do, and why. Before starting, I kept finding myself with overuse injuries. Now that Im able to keep my knees and ankles safer with the strength and alignment that Im building through these exercises, I feel good pain instead of bad pain, even after a tough class! I didnt start ballet until age 30, but Id like to keep dancing for a long time, and with this program Im confident I can do that more safely!

I am always on the lookout for programa that are holistuc I terms of how the body works and Allien does an amazing job explaining how the body wors and amhow to make it batter.I am using her program, no only on myself, but also for my students. I have seen so much improvement and continue to value her contributions for she rovides a lot of content that make huge connections with various techniques. Comment: I did not have the chance to work with Allie face to face, god I wished I had but I as I lived in Argentina and the pandemic took place, the chances were minimum. However I did work with her in the strength program, which I discovered in one of her free workshops about core strength… I end up falling in love with the way she explained everything single workout, how immediately it could be felt in the specific muscles, and how easily it was to understand how it translated into the dance class.I had my doubts about the program, mostly because I was affording it with my savings (remember Im from Argentina and the country is drowning economically) but oh! I would never ever say I spend that money… I invested it. My body changed, my strength improved exponentially, I mastered gym workouts with such an amazing form that so far every coach I work with points out every time, my overall performance just improves. However, that’s not the critical part, my discipline went from doing workouts every two days to be my daily meditation to feel my body, feel myself and built confidence as I knew those exercises were there not only as part as my warm up, or my turn out exercises, but to make every dance step possible to master as well as my body was being taken care, ready to do challenging stuff and make the whole professional ballerina journey enjoyable, different and POSSIBLE.Therefore, I did not get to know Allie face to face but her values, the truly sense of her work and her dedication here got to me deeply and that’s even better and something I’m forever grateful for.

Comment: I love Dancer Strong! Allie is so knowledgeable and she is a gem in a world where teachers are just telling you to “stretch” and improve that way. Allie’s program targets so many different issues. My core strength, glute activation, balance and flexibility have all improved. Comment: Overall, I loved my experience in the program. Frankly, Ive never been stronger/danced as healthy as I have in my life. I was worried as an adult dancer I wouldnt be taken seriously or welcome to the program, but I found in my consultation with Allie and my time in public spaces with the program, there were so many others like me out there. This program not only benefitted me as a dancer but as a dance instructor as well. Would recommend to anyone. You absolutely get the bang for your buck and even though finances wouldnt necessarily allow me to receive super individualized attention within the program - Allie had various ways to make herself available to those dancers who couldnt get that super individualized care. She really wants to make sure her dancers feel supported and are practicing in a healthy way. Despite being virtual or across the country, she/her group has a way of making you feel welcome.

Comment: I have been doing Allies Pre Pointe program for a few weeks now. It has been fantastic, not just strengthening my feet and ankles (which I definitely have), but also learning so much about correct alignment. Its helped me both in my dancing and my regular life.I feel so much more knowledgeable and Im able to self correct. Comment: I love the light-bulb-moment cues Allie provides. The harness hips cue she shared in a Zoom class enabled me to finally access the correct muscles that I never had been able to find before with other cues from well-meaning teachers. Allie has extensive knowledge of anatomy and how the body works, yet she can explain it simply and clearly. I am working through her pointe strength program, and the visual and explanation of metatarsals was very helpful because I had never been entirely sure of what metatarsals actually are. Ive also been happy to see increased mobility in my feet through the pointe program! I love Allies exercises that pack a punch, like the wall bug. That exercise (which I learned in a Zoom class she offered) has positively affected my shoulder girdle and rib cage placement like nothing else! I look forward to learning more from Allie through other programs she offers.

Comment: As an adult, I returned to ballet after a long (long!) break. Though I remembered a lot of the things I was supposed to do, and some of my core movements were still built into my mental and muscle memory, the years away had taken their toll on my ability to dance at the level I was used to. Compounded with time spent on other activities such as racing bikes, climbing mountains, trail running, and other things, I had strength and endurance, but not the *right* strength and endurance.Working with Allie was a HUGE help. I was able to access strength and control in using my flexibility. I am now able to confidently dance in the highest level classes at my studio. I am confident in my ability to perform on stage, and to move safely in multiple dance styles, not just ballet.After completing the year-long Dancer Strong program, I still follow Allie on IG, and reach out to ask questions on occasion. Allie is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging to the dance community. Her support through the program and after have helped me be more knowledgeable about my muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and what I need to do to continue to dance for decades more. Not only do I have more technical ability, but I also have gotten rid of several nagging aches and pains as Ive gained strength. Comment: I highly recommend Allies Pointe Strength program. It really works. I felt the difference in my ballet class already after a week and half - my rélevé was higher, stronger and more stable. Sous-sus and balances on one leg were noticably easier. My arches look higher and better too which many dancers will be wanting! (They are not naturally super high and flexible.) This course is absolutely worth the price if you want to go en pointe or improve your pointe work and dance in a strong and safe way. It would also be perfect training for walking in heels...! Her exercises in the Dancer Strong program create a clear pathway to build strength and consistent movement patterns. Its great to have ballet concepts explained in ways that take anatomical reality into account. Comment: Im an adult dancer who has been on pointe on and off since my teens, but never really had a proper foot and ankle strengthening program or evaluation. I started the online Pointe Strength program about a month ago, doing about 15-20 minutes of the exercises 4-5 days a week and can already feel the difference in my alignment, pointe strength, and stability on and off pointe. And Im only on Level 2 of the 4-level program! I was looking for cross training to complement my dancing at a time when I could not access a gym, or my usual cross training classes. We are still working together.Allie provides the most effective, thorough, detailed, and body specific cross training I have experienced ever. Her depth of knowledge is complemented by her realistic, kind, caring, and uplifting demeanor. Even from only working online I saw huge changes in my body, and in my understanding of the mechanics of my body. I decided I wanted to meet Allie in person, and travelled from Europe to spend 10 days working with her in California. It is the best cross training choice I have made, thus far, as a dancer.In all our sessions she carefully assesses my body both in action and on reflection. Meaning all training sessions are carefully pre-planed and designed to my needs, as well as adjusted to how my body reacts on the day. As a professional dancer, I find this type of fine tuned training to be vital. Comment: I am 26 year old yoga teacher and professional dancer/choreographer. I have been dancing for 14 years and performed professionally for 5. I worked with Allie in the ambassador program for 3 months—Allie has transformed so much of the way I think about my body. I had come to her having long struggled with flexibility and a recurring knee injury, and she offered me a massive wealth of knowledge that helped me discover the interconnectedness of my entire dancing body, my potentials in range of motion, and the habits that led to my injuries. Each session with her was a new discovery, whether it was rehabbing a neck injury, learning how to activate my glutes to protect my knee, or discovering new range of motion in proper alignment with my anatomy and in teamwork with my nervous system. Comment: I feel like oversharing about my dance experience thus far. I have danced mostly all my life but have had teachers that did not really focus in on me. I was, still am kind of, hyper extended but not in the great way ballerinas are supposed to be and ended up injuring myself. I let go of ballet and all dreams alongside that path. Comment: I went to Allies ballet cue class and it was very informative and organized! I am a ballet student who also teaches adult online sometimes. I am never a very coordinated person but I always work hard and try to apply my teachers corrections to my very best. I have been told to pull my stomach to my spine all the time, and I did it to the degree that I think I dont know how to breath correctly anymore. I would not eat or drink anything before the class because I was so afraid that my stomach doesnt look like being pulled to my spine. For quite a while, I thought if my stomach is hard, then I am using my core. However, Allie taught me how the right feeling of breathing and immediately feels so much more comfortable. We did couple exercises in the class, and all of them makes me want to learn more.As a teacher (more like a tutor) with students who usually in the situation that I was in - being told to force things onto our body, I quickly learned its important to explain the reason of why we are using core or why we are pulling up in a way that they can actually feel the change in their body. I really like what Allie said that everyone has different body and we have to stop make the image looks right but actually feel whats going on (thats not her original words tho). I have also been advocating that to my students as well! I am looking forward to learn more from Allie in the future! Highly recommend her to anyone who is serious about dancing healthily and happily!

Comment: When I hit my 50s, I felt like I was getting old before my time. I had pinched nerves in my lower back and neck. The pain started to impact my life and I became less and less mobile. As a result, I started putting on weight fast. It finally got so bad, that there were days I could barely function at all. As I talked with Allie, I realized there were things I could do that didnt involve surgery or drugs that would assist my back and neck. I started working regularly with Allie and within a couple of weeks, the pain had greatly diminished. It’s been several years since I started working with Allie and I have not had any serious neck or back problems. Most days I am pain free. Even when my neck or back acts up, it is very mild and usually because I have been slacking on what Allie has taught me. As I am increasing my strength, mobility and losing weight and I feel like I am getting younger each month. Thank you, Allie, for all the assistance in getting my life back.

Comment: I had an amazing first session with Allie yesterday. She is personable, knowledgeable, and quickly adapts the session to fit your exact needs. I have been struggling with chronic hip and back pain, and Allie was able to quickly analyze my injury and provide multiple exercises for me to do over the next few months. Most importantly, she listens to you. I have been to numerous chiropractors, sports med doctors, and trainers over the years, but often they brush off your complaints or try to apply a generic fix. Allie does not do that and truly listens to you and your needs.

Comment: Allie is AMAZING. I came to her after over 7 months of not dancing do to Cancer. I had no muscle, horrible fatigue, 0 flexibility, and I felt like I lost my “dancer body”. Not only is she helping me find those important muscles again but she’s able to fix LIFE LONG problems that I’ve had with my technique. My arms and turnout are absolutely transformed. She’s able to fix and pinpoint problems that my teachers have been struggling with right away. Her knowledge of anatomy gives me such confidence with her. Allie not only knows what’s wrong, she also knows the why, and how to fix it.If you struggled with and injury or a long break from ballet PLEASE give Allie a try. Comment: After many months of chiropractic and physical therapy appointments that led only to temporary relief from hip pain, my daughter has finally found the help to address the underlying problem that is responsible for creating her pain! Allie helped her to identify alignment issues that were the underlying cause of her injuries and has given her practical ways to address it through muscle strengthening. She is now able to dance with much less pain and is continuing to work with Allie to continue to strengthen her support muscles to gain even further progress. Comment: Allie is absolutely amazing! She is SO knowledgeable and her approach and philosophy on strength and flexibility are enlightening. I just finished a 12-week private session (we met once a week virtually) and I have seen dramatic changes of improvement in my dancing, but also in every day life! I feel much more stable and strong. Comment: I am so glad that my daughter had the opportunity to work virtually with Allie for the past 12 weeks. It is incredible to watch the transformation from a young dancer with little to no strength to now be able to hold and balance positions for an extended time. Comment: One year ago, I did not think I could dance again. I had achy and sharp hip joint pain after attending two ballet summer intensives. I kept dancing with pain to a point where I could not sleep at night! I could not sit for long periods of time and eventually had pain with walking! After being diagnosed with hip impingement, a cyst, and labrum tears, I decided to proceed with surgery on my right hip. After operation and conventional physical therapy, my pain decreased, but dancing and stretching without pain afterwards was impossible. I had no idea what to do!I started to follow Align Fitness by Allie on Instagram and was interested in her strategies with movement and flexibility. After working with Allie virtually for 3 months, I FINALLY was able to take a modern class WITHOUT HIP PAIN! Allie gave me the knowledge I needed to find proper pelvic placement, helping me to dance functionally and fix unsafe habits. The techniques she gave me have allowed me to continue dance, using my hips the optimal way and using my entire core. She gave me series of exercises for strengthening, something I realized I desperately needed! THANK YOU Allie for showing me WHY I had pain and teaching me how to overcome it! Allie provides RELEVANT, HEALTHY, and EMPOWERING instruction that I have not found anywhere else! I consider myself a knowledgeable, experienced instructor. Comment: It was very important for us as parents that we find the right person who understood the Kinesiology of a dancers body and their needs and it was imperative that not only she maintain a strong body for surgery but to have someone who would be there afterwards to help her regain the flexibility and strength, Allie was the exact person she needed. It was very important to our daughter and us that regain the skills that she had trained and developed for so many years in order to return to the world of dance. When we first reached out to Allie a month before surgery she was flexible with our schedule and willing to accommodate our unique situation, she even did her own homework and became well versed in our daughter’s condition, its anatomy prior to surgery.Post 6 wks of surgery my daughter saw Allie 3 times a week, started with 30 minutes increments of mild gentle fluid movements that over time would only improve the flexibility. The movement of her chest/torso were now restricted by this Titanium steel bar that was surgically placed behind her Thoracic ribs inside and in front of her heart. Allie continued to help our daughter find a way to maintain and develop her new founding core strength to improve mobility and reduce pain. She also set up a new plan of action as now that the correction of the front of her chest had been taken care of it now had caused the major shift and curve in the spine (history of a VERY mild case of scoliosis prior to surgery) Her Orthopaedic Doctor and Thoracic surgeon suggested physical therapy would be the next step for our daughter and suggested she was cleared to so. We told him we had a very good personal trainer who worked with a PT and was better suited and familiar in the rehabilitation of dancers with combined resistance training, core strengthening and specific body motions with Gyrotonics.6 months forward now my daughter goes twice a weekly (1 hr each). Allie targets her recovery by having her do different exercises to improve the straightening of her back, working to correct the alignment of her body in these last six months. Our daughter has regained flexibility, strength and agility and has resumed Ballet again. Our daughter has increased her range of motion, she is more aware of what her body is capable of doing and has more endurance thanks to this particular training. Allie is a very positive person with great patience, she genuinely knows how to connect with these dancers that need encouragement when injured or recovering or just looking to improve and become better dancers. Every week there is something new that Allie corrects or improve in our daughter’s technique that she then applies to her ballet class the following and others notice. Our daughter will continue to work with her on maintaining the newly found core strength that even her Ballet teachers have noticed and said“ She came back even stronger than before “or “ even her turns out’s are better and her ability to balance is better”“ It doesn’t even look like she had surgery “ per her Ballet Mistressbesides Allie helping her get back into the world of dance, we recently saw her Orthopaedic Doctor for the 6-month post-x-ray to her spine and he was very pleased and a bit surprised that the curve in her spine has improved so quickly and he said“ Its almost straight … it’s just 6 months, continue what you are doing “In retrospect, we only wished we had known and started with Allie years ago. This could have helped our daughter become a much stronger dancer sooner by having that one person who teaches you how your muscles and body work together, what doesn’t work or correct that bad habit you’ve been doing all along, to what does and makes you look like a solid dancer. We highly recommend Allie and we look forward to seeing our daughter continue on this journey with Allie help.

Comment: Ive tried and number of various exercise methodologies, but Gyrotonic is by far my favorite. It is the most complete workout Ive ever experienced. It works you in such a way that you leave feeling taller and more balanced but at the same time feeling quite accomplished, because youve challenged both your body and mind. Ive gained more strength, flexibility, and coordination because of the Gyrotonic system and also have significantly improved my back pain from scoliosis.Allie Christensen is also wonderful to work with! Allie and Gyrotonics located in Costa Mesa in Orange County Ca is truly AMAZING!I was facing back surgery, 2 ortho surgeons out of 4 wanted to fuse my vertebrae and put in rods and cages. My only thought was they are going to immobilize a part of my body that is designed to move!! Intended to move!! Have you read the outcomes for back surgery???Well, I read them and thought there must be a better solution!Thanks to one of my awesome chiropractors Dr Sebastian Gonzales I found that solution -- Gyrotonics!My problem was stenosis, bulging disc and spondiliothis. I was in terrible pain. It hurt to walk 50 yards, I am a marathon runner (i have run Boston 3 times and qualified twice as many times) and 2 time ironman finisher - what the heck!! Not to brag but to give you perspective. It hurt to stand and to lift anything heavier than my laptop!Now after working consistently with Allie and faithfully doing my exercises my pain is subsiding and almost gone!!I have longer periods that are painfree!! I can stand for longer periods and walk as much as I want! I will start running again this summer (I want to run Boston one more time : ) Its work but its worth it!!Allie is awesome! She talks you through every exercise and is so very patient and knowledgeable about your muscles and their function!!Every athlete should invest in taking gyrotonics sessions to prevent injury and train your muscles to support and decompress your spine and increase your flexibility. Comment: Gyrotonic has been the best thing I have done for my body. I am a 82 year old woman with Parkinsons. Working with Allie in Gyrotonic has helped regain a number of things. The most important to me, my balance. She has improved my walking gait, my posture, and taught me how to get up and down from the ground (which is so important as an elderly person) I literally walk out of each appointment standing taller, stronger, and in less pain then when I came in. It has helped my back pain significantly, and keeps my brain firing and learning new patterns. As I age Im working hard in here to keep my memory sharp and coordination high. Obviously, I cant say enough about Gyrotonic and Allie. I recommend anyone who is wanting to age gracefully and keep their posture and movement as they age, try Gyrotonic.
